We bought this product, the SU-4010 dual mist humidifier,as a replacement for a humidifier of another make that we had for many years and is no longer available for purchase. The Sunpentown humidifier is efficient in raising the humidity level of the room where it is located and very easy to use. The handle on the container is conveniently located for transporting it from the kitchen sink where we fill it with water to a bedroom where we have the base. The red light lets one know when it has to be refilled. My one reservation has to do with its capacity for it has to be refilled much more often than I anticipated.

The Sunpentown SU-4010 Ultrasonic Dual Mist Humidifier is a superb humidifier. It produces a visible stream of mist that is more than adequate for a 10X12 room. Although it could benefit from a larger tank, filling the current tank is a simple task. The unit is controlled by two knobs. One turns the unit on and switches between cool and warm mist while the other adjusts the level of humidity; a very simple, uncomplicated design. I have used other brands of humidifiers, but the Sunpentown SU-4010 Ultrasonic Dual Mist Humidifier is, by far, the best.

I love this humidifier. I bought it on the recommendation of Consumer Reports, since it is highly recommended in the January 2011 issue. I had never used an ultrasonic humidifier before - only evaporative cool mist models that use a wick filter and a fan to circulate air (and are pretty loud as a result). This humidifier doesn't use a fan, which seems to help keep it quiet when it's running. And it is exceptionally quiet! The only thing I can hear is an ever-so-faint buzz created by plugging the humidifier in. I have been sleeping with this unit on using the medium setting and it doesn't disturb me at all.

I was a bit concerned that because the unit doesn't have a fan, the humidified air wouldn't circulate enough to fill my room. However, the air output seems powerful enough and you can see it blowing into your room. You can also make it more powerful by turning the control knob. I like that the system has 2 nozzles to direct the airflow any which way you choose for better air coverage throughout your room.

The warm mist and cool mist options are useful. I have been using the warm mist option most recently since it has been uncharacteristically cold down here in Georgia. I think it helps keep my space just a bit warmer. I also like that the humidifier turns off when it empties and you have to refill the tank. This seems like a good safety feature.

One feature I wish this humidifier had (and the reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars) is automatic operation. This model runs continuously and doesn't measure the humidity in your room. Other models I have had continually measure the humidity in your room and start/stop airflow to maintain the humidity you want.

Regardless, this model has still been a great buy for me and because I only run it continuously at night, the automatic operation feature isn't as necessary. Highly recommended for healthy humidified air!

This humidifier works great. It works with regular tap water, and the filter is easy to clean, the reservoir is easy to fill. It has a nice gauge on top that shows if the filter needs cleaning. All in all, it's without a doubt the best humidifier I've used at any price.
