Living in a mobile home in south Texas presents a challenge: During the winter, the nights can be cold, but the days are usually pretty warm. I decided to purchase a space heater to take the chill out of the bedroom at night without having to run the central heating in the whole house. Since I basically live out of one bedroom, an electric space heater seemed the ideal solution. I tried a quartz radiant heater, but I found the heat highly directional, and the heater cycled between high and off, causing the room to cycle between chilly and hot. After doing user review research on the 'net, I decided to give the Vornado TouchStone Vortex Heater (TVH600) a try. I purchased the unit from Sylvane, because they had the best price anywhere.
And y'all know me, I spent a good time looking for the best price.
When I unpacked the unit I was dubious: This heater is pretty small in physical size. But after turning it on, the heater did not take long to bring the bedroom up to a comfortable 75 degrees. This is a large master bedroom with questionable insulation, close to 16' x 16', so I was surprised when this small unit maintained the room temperature without having to run continuously. The temperature outside was in the mid 30's and the thermostat on the central heat was below 55. The fan is very quiet, but obviously efficient. Unlike the quartz heater, the Vornado's continuously variable heat keeps the room warm without cycling between warm and cool, and without the annoying directionality. The remote thermostat ensures you are at the temperature you desire, and works very effectively. I prefer to sleep with the temperature in the 60s, and even in the large bedroom the Vornado can maintain that setting in low heat mode. I have only needed the high setting during the day on colder days to maintain 75.
The backlit touch screen on the top of the heater screen works well, with a user-friendly layout, although it is more convenient to use the remote. The only criticism I have is the remote should be re-designed to display the temperature you are setting while you are adjusting it with the remote. The remote only displays the current room temperature it is sensing; therefore, you have to look at the heater to see what the setting is.
Overall this is a wonderful product, and well worth the premium over the cost of a simple space heater. And for all your air purifier, heater or related products, give Sylvane a try. You won't be disappointed.

GOT THE PRODUCT IN AND CONNECTED IT AND IT DIDN'T WORK (9AGH)&%%) I DIDN'T WANT TO BELIEVE THOSE REVIEWS WHICH IS WHY I WENT AHEAD AND ORDERED ONE. I'D FIGURE THAT WITH THE BAD PRESS THE MANUFACTURER GOT THEY WOULD DO A SWEEPING AUDIT TO FIX THE PROBLEM GLITCH THEY ARE HAVING OF SHIPPING A PRODUCT THAT ISN'T WORKING WHEN RECEIVED BY THE CUSTOMER. I HAD TO RETURN THE PRODUCT LIKE SOME OTHER BUYERS DID. SO IF YOU DON'T WANT THE DELAY AND TROUBLE OF HAVING TO RETURN A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT DON'T GET THIS ONE.
YOU WOULD THINK THAT THEY WOULD DO A RECALL AND CHECK THE HEATER BEFORE IT LEAVES THE WAREHOUSE.
THEY EMAILED ME THE RETURN SHIPPER, SO THE RETURN WARRANTY IS GOOD. LET'S HOPE WHEN I GET THE"FIXED" ONE BACK IT WILL WORK AND WITH A 5 YEAR WARRANTY IT IS GOOD.

I've owned many room heaters but this one is the best! It does it all and with a remote control to operate functions - and noiseless (just a slight whisper. Buy this one, you won't be disappointed...

Only Vornado product that I had to return. Does not have sufficient heating power (older unit heats the room in 1/3 the time) and the remote only shows the room temperature and not the temp one wants to set. Very poor engineering.

This heater was exactly what i was looking for..small but provides great heat to the entire room.easy to operate and no hot parts to burn you, i have a little grand who touches everything so this was great

I can honestly say that this is the best room heater I've owned. Being disabled, I need a warmer room than normal. The Vornado TVH600 keeps my feet and hands warm when I work at my desk. The remote control sits on my desk and it's so easy to operate with the thermostat built into the control. I can set the temperature where I sit instead of where the heater is located. Another feature I like is that the fan continues to run when the room temperature is reached and the heat shuts off. The continous recycling of the air makes the room very comfortable.
So far there isn't anything that I don't like about this heater.

What can we say. This product is slightly expensive but truly the best of all the heaters we had in the past. You simply set the temperature for the room and it keeps it constant! Not like the others which turn off creating cold spots before turning back on again. This unit switches from heat to fan and continues to circulate the air preventing cold spots like in the cheaper models. For us it is worth every penny. In fact we have four of them for our house. And surprise, they are what we use for our house for heating during winter! That's right. No HVAC system at our place! Best thing of all, when your unit goes on the blink and it is within the 5 year warranty, the company will send you a brand new replacement! That's right. Of course, don't forget to follow the instructions to the letter. How one go wrong?! Buy it and try. You definitely will not regret it.

Over all it does everything it claims. Just two problems...the remote is not so well designed and limited in function. Two the fan continues once heat preset is achieved and blows cool air on you.....besides these issues it is a fine heater.

Excellent product, quiet, and work's great so far. I use it to heat a 20'x20' garage. Remote control with temperature gauge is a key upgrade to indicate at a glance the room temperature.

I had difficulty with the remote. I couldn't get it to work. I changed the batteries, thinking that was the trouble, but alas it still didn't work. I phoned the company and it sent me a replacement, which indeed does work, but as a result of my experience, I find myself dealing with the screen on the heater itself.
