The wee Vornado Vortex Heater is surprisingly fast and powerful. The controls are straightforward and easy to use. Operation is so quiet that I have to remember to turn it off when I leave the room. The only complaint I have is that when the unit senses it has heated the room to your desired temperature, it will actually start blowing cool air to keep from exceeding that temperature. This is probably what every thermostatic space heater in the entire universe does, but since I've never owned a thermostatic space heater, I wasn't really prepared for the chilly breezes. I assumed the machine would just sort of kick off for a while until the temperature dropped below target level. However, I just shoved the thing farther away from my chill-sensitive tootsies -- problem solved -- so I give this cutie patootie five stars!

I work from home, so rather than heating the entire upstairs during winter I bought this to only heat my office. No annoying clicks on and off, no loud fans, it just quietly heats the room in the background. Best of all, little electric bill increase, almost minimal. No worries about safety, no "hot areas" around the fan. Safety switches turn the unit off if in any way tilted.

Completely happy overall, especially about the safety aspect, it makes using this heater worry free. I had my concerns that I was buying just another space heater, I rarely find a product that I am completely satisfied with, but this is one. Five stars for sure.

The heater fan keeps a steady temperature once it is set. It is quiet and easy to use. I do feel it is a bit overpriced, but Vornado is a good name in fans. Would recommend to anyone who wants a heater they can set and forget.

The unit is smaller and lighter than I anticipated but it does not hamper its performance. It does what it says by heating up the entire room. It is quiet and easy to operate. The unit stopped working this week and my experience with the technical group was pleasant. Even though I have to send the unit back, they are handling the cost. All I had to do was print off the shipping label and take it to the UPS store. So far I have been pleased with my experience with this unit and the company.

I love this heater. It has worked well in the small to medium areas I have put it. Only one small issue with the emergency shutoff switch. I have bare floors and the switch was not long enough or a fault in the switch that kept shutting the heater off. Once I figured the problem out, it has been great.

When I received this heater in the mail I was a little disappointed in what I thought the heat output should be. But after using the heater for a couple days I was amazed at how well it worked. It kept a large room up to 74 degrees easily so I bought another one for up stairs.

I did have to send one TVH 600 back but this is where I had a very pleasant surprise with Sylvane Customer Service. They were friendly, responded quickly and sent out another unit the next day. I will not hesitate to buy anything Sylvane offers due to their outstanding customer service support.

So for Vornado 5 Stars for Sylvane 5 BIG STARS.

I have used this forum to promote the good, trash the bad, and downright berate the ugly when it comes to companies and products. For a change, this experience was better than good.

Living in a mobile home in south Texas presents a challenge: During the winter, the nights can be cold, but the days are usually pretty warm. I decided to purchase a space heater to take the chill out of the bedroom at night without having to run the central heating in the whole house. Since I basically live out of one bedroom, an electric space heater seemed the ideal solution. I tried a quartz radiant heater, but I found the heat highly directional, and the heater cycled between high and off, causing the room to cycle between chilly and hot. After doing user review research on the 'net, I decided to give the Vornado TouchStone Vortex Heater (TVH600) a try. I purchased the unit from Sylvane, because they had the best price anywhere.
And y'all know me, I spent a good time looking for the best price.

When I unpacked the unit I was dubious: This heater is pretty small in physical size. But after turning it on, the heater did not take long to bring the bedroom up to a comfortable 75 degrees. This is a large master bedroom with questionable insulation, close to 16' x 16', so I was surprised when this small unit maintained the room temperature without having to run continuously. The temperature outside was in the mid 30's and the thermostat on the central heat was below 55. The fan is very quiet, but obviously efficient. Unlike the quartz heater, the Vornado's continuously variable heat keeps the room warm without cycling between warm and cool, and without the annoying directionality. The remote thermostat ensures you are at the temperature you desire, and works very effectively. I prefer to sleep with the temperature in the 60s, and even in the large bedroom the Vornado can maintain that setting in low heat mode. I have only needed the high setting during the day on colder days to maintain 75.

The backlit touch screen on the top of the heater screen works well, with a user-friendly layout, although it is more convenient to use the remote. The only criticism I have is the remote should be re-designed to display the temperature you are setting while you are adjusting it with the remote. The remote only displays the current room temperature it is sensing; therefore, you have to look at the heater to see what the setting is.

Overall this is a wonderful product, and well worth the premium over the cost of a simple space heater. And for all your air purifier, heater or related products, give Sylvane a try. You won't be disappointed.
