Product Overview

The DP1-45E-03 dehumidifier from Soleus Air will keep your space dry and comfortable with efficient and easy operation. This unit can remove up to 45 pints of water out of the air per day (at saturation), making it a great choice for medium sized basements and other high moisture areas.

Humidity Control
The Soleus DP1-45-03 will maintain a selectable humidity level anywhere from 35% to 80% humidity and will cycle on and off to maintain the humidity level chosen. For continuous operation, push the "+" button on the digital display until the letters "CO" are displayed.

Protection From Water Overflow
The dehumidifier features a 9.5-pint water collection tank with a tank control system that prevents overflow. When the tank reaches capacity, a "Tank Full" indicator light will activate, and the unit will turn off automatically. Only after the tank is emptied manually can normal operation resume.

Automatic Gravity Drainage
The dehumidifier is equipped with a continuous drainage port that enables automatic gravity drainage. To use, thread a standard garden hose (not supplied) onto the port and position the hose downhill so that water can drain out using the force of gravity.

lots of work emptying it, but still good

I've used this dehumidifier for a few weeks now and it seems to be working great. It's relatively quiet and definitely pulls the humidity out of the air in my basement. The big issue is the extremely small bucket that fills up VERY quickly during this humid summer. We have a very small basement, and I have to empty this dehumidifier at least 3 times a day (whereas my old one that had much larger bucket I only had to empty once a day). I thought I was buying a bigger one than my old one based on the capacity listed, so I was disappointed about this. Also, even on the low fan setting it blows a lot of warm air out.

Got this to replace a very loud Kenmore unit. Does the trick and allows for continuous draining. Not as loud as the old unit.

What is the ideal humidity level this unit should maintain?

We recommend you maintain a humidity level of between 45 and 50 percent. Too much humidity creates an ideal environment for mold, dust mites, bacteria, and pests to thrive. Too little humidity can be just as damaging by causing health issues such as an increase in colds and the flu and irritated skin and respiratory passages. Should a dehumidifier be setup as close to floor level as possible or will they work the same if raised a few feet up off the ground?

Dehumidifiers can be either situated on a floor level or raised without affecting operation. When raised a few feet, the dehumidifier will benefit from improved gravity drainage.

Does the fan run all the time or only as needed?

The fan on this model runs continuously, but the compressor only runs when needed. The fan checks humidity in the room and runs at all times.
