A solid unit in terms of operation. Good functions and controls. Works well in removing water from the air in a basement. Just a little on the loud side, but if used in a basement, the noise level should not be problem, but be aware of this potential side effect.

Read great reviews about the dehumidifier. Had some concerns about issues with hooking up for permement drainage. Had no problems and the unit is pulling a lot of water out of the air. Great unit.

This dehumidifier was purchased for use in our unfinished basement, which is completely below grade. It is replacing a 30 pint unit which was not very effective especially due to the coolness of our basement.

We use the basement as a work shop, laundry room, and also for various crafts, so it is important to maintain a low humidity level. The new Soleus dehumidifier was delivered about one week after ordering, arriving on time and in good condition. It was extremely easy to unpack and set up. It was easy to carry downstairs since it has a built in carrying handle on top of the machine.

The manual is very concise and is recommended reading since it details all the features and indicates that it should be operated in the continuous mode for the first 24 hour break in period, probably not the way I would have set it up. This machine works very well at removing moisture. I had no idea that our basement was at greater than 70 percent relative humidity until I plugged it in.

It began removing moisture almost immediately, filling the bucket within the first 24 hours. So far we have been dumping the bucket manually, so we can keep track of the water removed. This unit does have an easily accessible fitting to enable attaching a garden hose directly to the machine.

The only draw back to this unit is that the fan may be considered loud to some people, especially if used in a living space. For us the fan noise is not an issue since it is located in the basement. It cannot be heard from the first floor living space, even when operated on the high fan setting. We appreciate the high air flow (and subsequent noise) from this unit since we need circulation in our basement area. Overall a very good value.

This is a replacement dehumidifier for a different brand that quit working in our finished basement. We were impressed by the quality and details of this unit. One of the very important items is the removable/cleanable filter. Also, the location of the water collection bin (front loading) as well as the available hose attachment sold us on this unit. The best feature however is how it works. After running the unit for only a very short time, the dampness/coolness of our lower level is completely gone. This area finally feels like the living area in the rest of our home.

I called Soleus only to be told to replace it or take it to a local service for repair. I did not take the warranty when I purchased it but figured no unit would fail that fast . My old GE lasted 20 years!
I am not happy with the cold response I received .I will research other manufacturers and hope I can find a more reliable one.

I bought this product for my basement. It does a very good job, and it is a very nice unit. I would very much recommend it to everyone that needs a dehumidifier . I love the way you can set the humidity level that you want and it will turn on and off as needed to maintain what you prefer it to be.
