Mounted this on a wall in the basement to heat a large finished space down there. Doesn't cost much to run. Heats the space up gradually with no noise or odor. Love the timer with auto shut-off.

It might heat fine, but it just wasn't off-gassing its noxious smell. We had to return it.

I work in a hospital and the NFPA 101 Life Saftey Code only allows for the use of portable space heating devices "in nonsleeping staff and employee areas where the heating elements of such devices do not exceed 212 degrees F". This pretty much eliminates any portable heater (I have never been able to find a unit with a heating element that is less thnn 212 degrees).But a wall mounted unit is not considered "portable."

I am in an area of the building that was converted from a storage area and does not have adequate heating, so this is working very well to subliment the heat for the room. My boss was so impressed that he now has one for his office and we provide one in another adjacent office.

I've only used this for a few days now but am thoroughly impressed. I work from my unheated basement office here in the northeast US which gets, well, really cold. I had a little fan-type heater which was only ok and quite loud (had to turn it off while on the phone). This thing heats very quickly, is silent, and the radiant heat has an immediate effect when I sit down at my desk on these cold mornings.

I'd recommend this to anyone, but especially to people who are cold.

This heater performs efficiently, doesn't take up much space,and though the front end of it cycles on and off through a somewhat hot phase, I don't have to worry about burning myself or the burning the house down with it. However, this is my second heater, my first I used last winter for six months and then it just stopped working. I didn't have a warranty with the first one, but this time around I'm glad I purchased a warranty, hopefully this second heater will last longer. Besides that, every else is excellent about it.

This is the third winter I've used my 308R and I loved it! Although my living room is an open floor plan, this heater still warmed it up quickly and without drying out the air.

Yesterday one of the wheels fell off. The heater was cool and unplugged. I laid it on its side to replace the wheel (how else would one replace a wheel on the BOTTOM of a unit?). After that, it wouldn't turn on. I called the toll free number on the back of the unit and talked with a representative. I told him what happened and he told me that it is not recommended to lay the unit down. I reviewed the owner's manual that came with the heater. I found no place where it states this. The closest thing I found was it said not to tilt while OPERATING. Mine was in not operation. It had not yet been turned on that day.

The technician told me to wait four hours and turn the unit back on as it should reset itself. He said that if it doesn't, that means it will no longer operate. More than 24 hours later, the unit still will not turn on. Since the unit is past the one year warranty, he did not offer any other suggestions: no repair nothing. Not sure I will purchase another one. I consider this poor the fact that the manual did not say not to turn the unit over at all. I'm rating this as average due solely due to inadequate information in the owner's manual.

this is the third Soleus heater I have purchased. It quickly and quietly heats up my massage office. I have many clients with sensitive health issues and this is one heater that seems comfortable for everyone! I continue to use my original two (three years old) at the same time I am using the new one. I have not seen any change in my heating bill.
