The PE2-09R-21 portable AC unit, also known as the Soleus Air KY-9000, is extremely easy to use and largely economical. Self-Evaporating Technology

Among its most innovative features, this Soleus portable air conditioner features self-evaporating technology. There are absolutely no water buckets to empty. After using collected water to cool its internal components and to maintain efficient operation, the single-vent PE2-09R-21 simply evaporates the remaining liquid into hot air exhaust, which is ultimately vented outdoors. Should the unit ever experience a malfunction in its evaporative condensate system, it will collect excess water in an emergency water holding tank. This may also occur in extremely humid conditions. When the tank is full, the KY-9000 will automatically shut off until the water tank is emptied. You'll never have to worry about condensate overflow.

Four Operating Modes

Along with performing self evaporation, the PE2-09R-21 features four operating modes. These include:

• Air Conditioner – The unit cools using 9,000 BTUs of power per hour.
• Dehumidifier – The unit dehumidifies, removing up to 55 pints of water per day.
• Fan-Only – The unit circulates air using three fan speeds (low, medium, and high). Oscillating louvers help to provide better airflow.
• Auto – The unit operates in Dehumidifier mode when the room temperature is between 68 and 80 degrees F. When the temperature measures above 80 degrees F, the unit switches to Air Conditioner mode.

Energy-Saving Features

This portable AC is also equipped with an adjustable thermostat and a 24-hour programmable timer. These two functions work in unison to make sure the unit is only running when you want it to – which saves you energy and gives you ultimate control over your power usage. • Sleep Mode – In this mode, the unit's fan operates on low for quiet, undisturbed operation. The temperature setting increases by 2 degrees above the original temperature over six hours. After six hours, the temperature returns to the original setting.
• Swing Button – When pressed, this button starts horizontal louver oscillation. Vertical louvers are adjusted manually.
• Power Interruption Recovery – Unit operation with current selected settings is automatically restored after power outage.
• Washable Air Filter – If the unit's air filter becomes clogged with dust and other particles, simply wash it with warm water and a neutral detergent.
• LCDI Power Cord – For added electrical safety.
• Window Kit: The window kit fits most standard vertical and horizontal windows, as well as select sliding glass doors.
