Which replacement water filter do I need? There are two different models of replacement water filters - depending on the model of water purifier you have. You will need to open up your water purifier and determine whether or not your unit contains 2 filters or 3 filters and order accordingly. If you have 3 filters, you will need SKU 386. If you have 2 filters, you will need SKU 493.

Water Cleaning Prefilter

Heavy duty 1 micron sediment filter removes dirt, rust, scale, silt, sand and other suspended particles including cysts such as crytospridium and giardia to produce sparkling clean, clear water.

Chemical & Lead Removal Filter

Molded carbon block filter "Carbon compressed under high pressure" removes chlorine, THM's, "chloroform-carbon tetrachloride", benzene, chlorinated solvents, herbicides, pesticides, and other related volatile organic hydrocarbons.

Incorporated into the carbon block filter is the "Engelhard ATS leads sorbent matrix material irreversibly locks onto any lead in solution reducing the concentration well below Environmental Protection Agency guidelines.

Heavy Metal Taste & Odor Filter

Activated tricalcium phosphate also known as "calcium hydroxyapatite". This material is well known for its ability to reduce fluoride and many heavy metals such as aluminum and copper through absorption and ion exchange processes.

Granular activated coconut carbon media is used to absorb chemical contaminants of light molecular weight such as THM's, chlorinated compounds, and radon which can be displaced by the pre-filter after prolonged use.

Ultraviolet Disinfection Chamber

A unique feature to the Sun-Pure Water Purifier is the use of Ultraviolet Light to destroy microorganisms in the water.

Ultraviolet light attacks viruses and bacteria by destroying the RNA and DNA complex of these organisms. Once this complex is destroyed the disease causing viruses, bacteria, and parasites can no longer reproduce themselves.

Built In Micro Computer

Microprocessor controller provides the ultimate in user friendliness. This advanced feature in water technology not only keeps track of the amount of time the filters and ultraviolet lamp have been installed, but also the actual volume of water that has passed through the system. The service indicator lamps will change from green to yellow, alerting the consumer 30 days in advance to order replacement components, and then to red indicating the filters and ultraviolet lamp must be replaced. The microprocessor control will not lose track of time due to power interruptions.
