The Sunpentown SD-46T Dehumidifier with TiO2 and UV Light controls excess humidity and helps to rid your air of germs, bacteria, allergens, and odors. Designed to cover up to 300 sq. ft., this unit removes 46 pints of moisture per day under AHAM conditions, or 60% relative humidity at 80°F. In addition to air-sanitizing technology, the SD-46T features dual operating speeds, a wide range of humidity settings, and an easy-to-use touch-button control panel.

Easily Controls Excess Humidity

Did you know that an excessively humid environment is poised to become a breeding ground for symptom-aggravating allergens such as dust mites, mold spores, and mildew? Too-humid environments are also desirable spots for cockroaches, termites, and other annoying pests. In addition, high moisture can wreak havoc on wood furniture, wood floors, and other moisture-sensitive materials. Fortunately, the Sunpentown SD-46T Dehumidifier can help you control these damaging effects.

Using the unit's soft-touch electronic control panel, start by adjusting your room's humidity level in 10% increments, including 50%, 60%, 70%, and 80%. Then, choose between two separate fan speeds – Low and High – or a continuous dehumidification mode to further customize operation. For reliable operation under a variety of conditions, this Sunpentown dehumidifier runs effectively in temperatures ranging from 41°F to 95°F. Another benefit – it's considerably quieter than comparable models of the same capacity. The unit exerts 45 decibels of sound during operation, the approximate equivalent of a heavy rain shower.

Filters and Sanitizes Room Air

Along with dehumidifying, the Sunpentown SD-46T helps to filter and sanitize the air in a room. The unit is equipped with an internal UV germicidal light and a TiO2 (titanium dioxide) mesh filter. When the ultraviolet light shines on the TiO2 filter, the filter takes on antibacterial, antiviral, and fungicidal properties. Together, these two components create oxidizers that work to eliminate germs, bacteria, and viruses from incoming air. The unit also features a washable air filter that captures larger particles and allergens and a carbon filter that absorbs unpleasant odors. The result of these processes is clean, purified outgoing air.

Multiple Drainage Options

The Sunpentown SD-46T offers 2 choices for drainage: manual or gravity-guided drainage. To manually drain the unit, simply empty the water collection bucket when it becomes full and replace. The dehumidifier is equipped with a full bucket light that turns from blue to red when the tank is full. To prevent overflow accidents, the unit's automatic shut-off function cuts power in the event that the water container becomes full, and you are not available to empty it. For gravity-guided drainage, the unit features a continuous drainage port. To set up this configuration, simply connect a drainage hose (not included) to this port and direct the hose downward into a nearby drain. Collected water will continuously flow out of the unit.
