Controls Excess Humidity and Stops Its Damaging Effects

Did you know that a too-humid environment can become a breeding ground for symptom-triggering allergens such as dust mites, mold spores, and mildew? Excessively humid conditions are also responsible for cockroaches, termites, and other annoying pests. Additionally, high moisture conditions may wreak havoc on your wood furniture, wood floors, and other moisture-sensitive materials. Fortunately, Sunpentown's SD-60E Energy Star Dehumidifier helps you control these adverse effects and stop them before they start.

With the unit's soft-touch electronic control panel, you can easily increase or decrease your room's humidity level in 5% increments. You can set it as low as 35% or as high as 80%. For greater range of operation, the SD-60E features two fan speeds – Normal and Turbo – and a continuous dehumidification mode.

Dual Drainage Options

The Sunpentown SD-60E can drain collected water in 2 ways: manual or gravity-guided drainage. To manually drain the unit, simply empty the water collection bucket when it becomes full and replace. To prevent overflow accidents, the unit is equipped with a full bucket indicator light as well as an automatic shut-off control. The auto shut-off function cuts power to the unit in the event that the water container becomes full, and you are not available to empty it.

For gravity-guided drainage, the SD-60E features a continuous drainage port. To set up, simply connect a drainage hose (not included with the unit) to the port and direct the hose downward into a nearby drain. Collected water will continuously flow out of the unit.

Earth-Friendly Operation This Sunpentown dehumidifier controls excess humidity – and helps the environment. The SD-60E is Energy Star-rated for efficient operation. That means that the unit can remove the same amount of moisture as comparable models, all while using 10-20% less energy. This is possible because of the unit's energy-saving internal components, including a more efficient refrigeration coil, compressor, and fan.

The SD-60E also uses a CFC-free refrigerant – R-134a – to help protect the ozone layer. CFC refrigerants, or chlorofluorocarbon refrigerants, have been found to cause rapid ozone depletion. They also contribute largely to the greenhouse effect. The R-134a refrigerant has zero ozone depletion potential.
