My wife and I own a cabin in the mountains of Montana. The power for the cabin consists of 2 off-grid solar panels, so low power appliances are a must. Though heating is the main concern in Montana, the month of August can be in the 90 to 100 degree range, and the cabin requires cooling.

We purchase a Sunpentown SF-610 Evaporative Air Cooler and was pleasantly surprised! It works well in our application because our humidity is low and our cabin is small. Also, it only uses about 50 watts which is easily doable with our small off-grid solar power system. The operating guide was very good, and we were able to get off and running quickly. Another plus was the low cost compared with other units.

One suggestion for improvement would be that the door to place the enclosed freeze-packs could be made larger to accommodate a male hand. My wife is the one that has to retrieve the freeze-packs without attaching a string to them.

I rate this unit 5-stars and am very pleased with the purchase.
