Endothermic Reaction

Using a natural cooling method, portable air coolers effectively cool your space with much less energy than traditional air conditioners. The Sunpentown SF-613 Portable Evaporative Cooler works by endothermic reaction, a process that consumes heat.

First, the air cooler pulls hot air into the unit and passes the air through a water-saturated wick. As the warm air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air and consumes the heat that was in the air. An evaporated air stream is then blown out the front of the swamp cooler through the adjustable louvers. This constant supply of fresh, cool air lowers the current room temperature, making your space considerably cooler and more comfortable.
