Manual control units are less expensive than similar digital models - and have the added convenience of automatically restarting after a power failure. Manual control is specifically recommended for use in server rooms or for use with pets at home.
Self-Evaporating Technology - during the cooling process water is extracted from the air into the unit. Most of this water is then recycled and used to cool the cooling coils and make it run more efficiently, improving cooling as well as saving energy. This process either eliminates or reduces the need to manually empty water from the collection tray (depending on the level of humidity in your environment).

I recently purchased this unit to replace a window unit installed in my two car garage. Ordering was simple and delivery was prompt. Installation was hassle-free and did not take long. The unit provides ample cooled air even when a hot car is pulled into the garage. The controls are easy to read and use and the unit is surprisingly quiet. The portability convenience is a great feature as I plan to take the unit with me when I relocate to a cooler climate. Also, in the event of a power failure, I will be able to power it with my generator, important consideration in Florida as we head into another hurricane season. I looked at other units but was impressed with its energy effeciency rating (much better than my old window unit and hoping to see some electricity bill savings). I installed the window exchaust kit which was easy and painted over the guard and it is hardly noticable. Before doing so, however, I only had to empty the reservoir once due to the self evaporating technology. The two fan speeds are a nice feature, even though I normally only need to have it on "normal", not "fast". The vents are movable so that air flow can be directed as needed. Also, with the heavy duty casters, the unit is easy to move about if needed. All in all, a very good unit for an attractive price with prompt delivery and easy installation. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone looking for a portable AC for about 400 SQ. FT.
