One of the most powerful units in the SPT line, this portable air conditioner sports 14000 BTUs of cooling power. It's typically sufficient to cool a room up to 500 square feet depending on the room's specific conditions. This unit features a built-in air purification system. This air purification is based upon use of both UV light and ion-based technology.
SPT's Self-Evaporating Technology extracts moisture from the air into the unit while it cools. Most of this water is then recycled and used to cool the cooling coils and make it run more efficiently, improving cooling as well as saving energy. This process either eliminates or reduces the need to manually empty water from the collection tray (depending on the level of humidity in your environment).
Note: Exhaust hose installation required (all standard accessories included).

My family and I are very pleased with the purchase of our new portable air conditioner. We did some research and knew that there were differences in performance between a window unit and a portable, but our decision was the portable. We had recently completed renovations including a new room with new windows, and we weren't ready to block the view with a window unit. This was to be our first purchase of an air conditioner in our home. To optimize it's effectiveness, we opted for the 14,000 BTU model.
Today we finished the setup and plugged it in. Almost immediately it refreshed us with cold air. It is equipped with an ionizer so we activated that function also and the air was so pleasant! Within minutes it dropped one degree on the thermostat in two large adjoining rooms that we had it set up in. We closed all the windows and turned on the fan which sucked the cold air into a third adjoining room.
As the heat and humidity of the day crept up, the two rooms remained comfortably cool.
Within three hours we emptied one pan full of water from the unit, even though it was not signaling a full tank. We did this to see that it was removing the water from the air.
We are considering purchasing another to put at the other end of our house. Based on how well this one works, we feel this will keep our home dry and comfortable; not to cold with dry, clean air.

We really like the quality of the air conditioner even though we just had to replace it. It was a good working machine until the condenser got a hole in it (rusted through).
We bought another unit just like it.

Works ok. But within a month or two, the water tank fills up every two to three days. My only alternative is to ship the unit to you. I bought it for the option of not having to empty the water tray. I'd probably not buy this unit again.
