The Santa Fe Classic and Hi-E Dry dehumidifiers are relatively quiet for their size – however, there will be applications when installed near a workstation, home theater, or other setup where the quietest operation possible will be desired. This accessory decreases the sound emitted from the dehumidifier by muffling the supply (exhaust) air outlet. The muffler kit:
- Is not compatible nor needed if the unit’s exhaust is ducted
- Can be used with the condensate pump kit (though if used together the pump cannot be mounted to the unit)
- Kit comes with everything you need to attach the muffler to the unit: screws, washers, and instructions
- Quick and simple assembly
Please note this item is not compatible with the Santa Fe Advance or Santa Fe HC Crawl Space units.

LOUD even with muffler...

Our house has a downstairs about on third of which is below grade. The area includes 3 bedrooms, a large family room and an office. For years we have had a significant humidity problem during the Summer. We tried using 4 or 5 small dehumidifiers with supposedly large capacities. The humidifiers worked day and night without much success and lots of noise. The Santa Fe Classic has solved our problem. We have achieved a normal humidity level, a result that we never thought possible, all without a costly professional installation. The Classic is a remarkably effective product. The noise level is no more than, and probably less than, one of our small dehumidifiers.
We also purchased the optional muffler kit. Don't bother. The muffler reduces the air noise from the dehumidifier, which makes the compressor noise seem louder. The net result is a zero reduction in noise. In addition, the muffler seemed to interfere with the functioning of the humidity level switch on the Santa Fe Classic.
