Amcor ALD-12000-EH Portable Air Conditioner and Heater

I had done some research on air conditioners. I needed one that was affordable, powerful, quiet, portable, and easy to use. I found all this in the Amcor ALD-12000EH.
I came across the Sylvane website and found it very easy to compare all the different models available. Price ranges and a brief summary of the manufacturer was very informative and helpful. I looked more closely at the Amcor models because of their affordability. Space was an issue so the unit had to be small and my wife didn't want anything complicated or "ugly". After viewing the features and specs for the Amcor ALD-12000EH we decided to purchase it.
The unit arrived surprisingly quick. We ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived on Monday! This also included the extra security verification by phone, which happened on Friday.
Installation of the unit was simple and intuitive, only taking about five minutes. We turned on the unit and were impressed:
This unit is quiet! The technical specs say this unit's sound level is 51.5 dB; to give you an idea of how low it is, a whisper is about 40 dB and a typical indoor conversation is about 60 dB. This thing is quieter than the box fan we were using!
Powerful? Yes! It takes very little time to cool off our room which is about 300 sq. ft. It only weighs a little over 60 lbs., so even on carpet (which we have) it is easy to maneuver in to position or take in to another room.
The remote control comes in handy, but the unit shuts itself on and off according to your settings, so, we don't really use it much.
My wife loved the fact that it came with a filter and the fact that it is washable was a plus.
The controls are straight forward and simple to understand. I would like to try out the heat setting, but it's just too hot right now...winter is not too far away.
I am very happy with my purchase of the Amcor ALD-12000EH. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality portable air conditioner. Thank you for your help Sylvane.com for making our life just a little more comfortable.

Impressed with Amcor ALD 12000E/EH

I recently purchased the Amcor ALD 12000E/EH to cool and heat my glassed in back porch (400 sq. ft. I looked at the Big Box stores and could not find either a window unit that would fit into my limited wall space or a portable unit that was also a heater. I surfed the net and found Sylvane.com and was impressed with the information that your site had on portable units vs. regular window units. The information, pros and con's of each helped me to decide on purchasing a portable unit. The portable unit was what I chose and I am happy with the arrival of my unit that came today. I ordered it last week immediately received email confirmation of the order and when it would ship; as soon as it shipped I was emailed the UPS tracking# and was able to see exactly when it would be delivered. I received the unit via UPS about one week later. It took only about an hour for me to install (had to make a hole in the wall for my outlet duct). The instruction book was straight forward and parts were easy to identify. There was virtually no assembly required. I have started the unit and I'm impressed with the quietness and speed of cooling. The remote control is great as well as the dehumidifier. I look forward to using the heater later this winter. Anyway, kudos’ to your company and the ease of shopping on-line for such a unique item.
