Ordered and received quickly. Packaged well and the installation was easy. Unit is heavy. Used their guidelines to pick the appropriate size ac unit. Seems about right - cools the room well. Have been running for about 1 1/2 months and all is good, or should I say, cool. Can't say anything about long term life but it has a long warranty so that is comforting.

When considering a floor standing unit know what to expect in order to manage your own expectations. It is important to understand that portable units will never provide as much cooling as a window unit. Not sure why this is considering that these units are more expensive than a windows unit. You should definitely buy a unit rated with more BTUs than you think you will need for your area.

Overall we fairly satisfied with the unit. The self-evaporating feature is a must when purchaing a unit, trying to change a pan in the middle of the night would be a problem. This unit is not quiet, so think a lot about where your windows are and if you are going to be able to point the back of the unit away from you if you are using this in bedroom. You will get used to the white noise after a few nights using the unit. They also recommend at least twenty inches away from the wall in order for the exhaust hose to be properly mounted in a window, that should also be a consideration when thinking about where you will be using the unit. In hindsight we might have looked for a unit that had the exhaust coming out closer to the top to allow for the hose to be more easily mounted.

The ordering process through Sylvane was excellent we recieved confirmation the same day then approval the next. The unit shipped same day as approval and was on our doorstep four days later. Our unit led broke about 5 days after we started using it we are in the process of getting it replaced by Sylvane. Will update on that process once it is complete.
