I purchased two (2) Healthmate 400 Air Purifiers from Sylvane about two months ago and am absolutely thrilled with them. When I ordered the items, I was having problems with the internet, so I called and spoke with one of your friendly and courteous representatives. She walked me through every step of the purchase process, making in incredibly painless.

I received my Healthmates in about four business days. They were very thoughtfully packaged and came out of the box in pristine condition. The minute I plugged the Healthmates in, I could see them working to suck in everything in sight! I put one next to the window and it was amazing how the dust particles visible in the sun’s rays just disappeared, leaving the room completely clear.

The main reason I purchased the Healthmates was because my son has mild-asthma and my wife has a lot of allergies, specifically house dust. Over the past two months they both feel remarkably better and are noticing less and less asthma and allergy symptoms. I usually turn the Healthmates on Medium-High during the day and down to the Low setting at night—no problems with the fan noise—we all sleep like babies!

Also, I really like the wheels on the units—it makes it super-easy to move around from bedroom to hallway to living room to dining room. Wherever we are, we can roll our Healthmates to.Overall, I am completely satisfied with my purchases of our Healthmates 400. I plan on buying one or two more to put in our den and recreation room.

Austin Air Gets The Job Done

I purchased an Austin Air Healthmate Air Purifier several months ago to help my wife deal with her cat allergies. I had done extensive research on the web looking at different air purifiers to find the one that best fits my needs.

Ultimately I decided on the Austin Air Healthmate air purifier, due in large part to its great warranty, which covers not only the unit itself but the HEPA/Carbon filter as well, as well as long projected life span of the filters themselves. These attributes, combined with the high volume of air that the unit moves convinced me that it would provide me with the best long term value for my money.

As a student with a very tight budget I did not want to be roped into some filter replacement system that cost hundreds every year, and the Austin Air fit the bill perfectly. With a long projected filter life and a filter warranty to mitigate my costs if I managed to clog the filters prematurely, I felt comfortable that my filter costs would not likely be more than $50-$60/year and could well end up costing me less than that.

When matched to extremely high carbon content and the relatively high volume of air that the Healthmate filters and my belief that there were relatively few purifiers that were as good or better it became a relatively simple choice for me.

I ultimately chose to place my order through sylvane.com after hearing that they were a reputable internet dealer and I must say that the service I received from them was fast, professional, and problem free.

Since the Healthmate has arrived at my house I have been able to notice a dramatic improvement in air quality. Since I can only afford one of these right now, I shuttle the Healthmate to whichever part of the house my wife will be spending most of her time in. The casters are of good quality and make this easy to do.

My wife and I have both noticed that whether the Healthmate is in the room or not dust has almost been completely eliminated throughout our apartment. I can't emphasize this enough. After we received the Healthmate, we dusted a couple of times the first week (just as we always have), then maybe twice more during the next month and then we made a decision to just wait and see how long it would take for a meaningful film of dust to appear somewhere in our house. Two months later we are still waiting.

As to my wifes allergies the results have been more mixed, as we expected. We still have two cats so we can never fully solve this problem, but we have experienced a clear decrease in both severity and frequency of her outbreaks. My experiments have shown that we really need three Healthmates. One for the bedroom, one to set right next to the cat litter and one for the main living space to get the best results. But for now even the one is having positive results for us.

I first discovered the Austin HealthMate Jr while searching the web for Air Purifiers in 2001. I was currently living in a basement apartment and found I was developing mold allergies in addition to my pollen allergies.

I came across Sylvane and found the information on their site very helpful. They sold me immediately and within a couple of days I had received the unit (in excellent condition) and started using it. I ran the unit for 1 hour at the high setting and my 9'x8' room became a comfortable environment in no time. From that point on I ran the unit constantly on the low setting and never suffered from mold allergies again.

Four years ago I got married and moved into another basement apartment that was about 400 square feet. I brought my Austin Heathmate Jr and kept it in the living room on the high setting. Not only did my allergies stay in check but the fan (while in the same room) never interfered with any television watching. To prove how much the filter was actually helping we had to live without it following a flood in our apartment. For 1 week we suffered from the allergies and had to once again start taking our Alegra D. Once the filter replacements came we were able to come off the Alegra D once the Mold and Mildew smell had left the apartment (about 2 days).

We now live in a 1500 square foot 2 story house in a heavily wooded area so I figured we would use the Jr in the bedroom and bought the Larger Healthmate for the rest of the house. We run the unit on High while we are out of the house and sleeping and turn it on low when we are watching TV. The family living on the first floor noticed the difference in our apartment immediately upon entering. Both at the ease of breathing and the cooler temperature that the unit seemed to produce in the room. As of today they are also owners of the Austin Healthmate Air purifier.

The people at Sylvane are considerate and are truly there to assist the customer in making the best investment to fit your budget. Free 3 day shipping was enough to get me to purchase from them but with the ... personable sales department Sylvane is the choice I will always refer people to for their CLEAN AIR PRODUCTS!

Austin is good for jogging

I have a treadmill in my unfinished basement. When I used to run - by the end of my run I would be coughing due to all the dust and poor quality air. After I put the Austin down there I am cough free after my run which is great. I'd buy again.
