I bought this product after doing some research on air purifiers that were good for controlling pet dander. I have 2 rambunctious long-hair kitties, who shed what seems like a pound of fur a day. Even though I vacuum very frequently, my husband (who has a mild allergy to our cats) sometimes gets a little stuffy, gets watery eyes, and gets a scratchy throat from the cats. I bought the Pet Machine hoping that it would help put an end to my husband's symptoms or at least make them few and far between. To be honest, after the first couple of days, we didn't notice a difference, and I didn't think it was working. But we decided to give it a week or so and see how his symptoms were doing overall. As the week went on, they did start to get better. After a few weeks, he was having less stuffy nose/scratchy throat episodes and he wasn't sneezing as much. We really believe it's because of the Austin Air purifier. I definitely recommend it.

I have 5 dogs and 6 cats in my house and you were always smelling animals. Since purchasing my Austin Air Pet Machine, from Sylvane, I don't smell the animals anymore. Thanks Sylvane for making my nose feel better. Lewisburg PA

Works pretty well for dog odors

I got this product because I have 3 large dogs who, as much as i love them, stink sometimes! Of course we do regular baths/grooming, etc. but I could not seem to shake that overall "dog" smell from my home. I've tried lighting candles and using different air fresheners but I realized that those things were only covering up the smell. So I decided to try this. I liked the fact that Sylvane offered a money-back guarantee. I appreciate when a company gives you a chance too try something out and the freedom to return it if it doesnt work for you.
After a few days of using the Pet Machine, I noticed I didn't smell the dogs as much when I would come home. It really does help. My only complaint is the noise. It sometimes disturbs me at night, but I usually only run it during the days, when the dogs have been out getting into things and tracking back whatever "smells" they picked up while playing outside.

We have had 2 labs for less than a year...the pet machine was bought shortly after the arrival of the second one (a 6 year lab -already house broken!). I felt like the machine worked for less than a week to rid house of "dog smell". There has never been a smell of "accidents" - just that dog odor that I never wanted. We have hard wood floors so there is no carpet to trap odor. Dogs are not on furniture. Machine is by their beds. Beds are vacuumed almost daily and washed often. We vacuum all floors daily. Made mistake of emailing Austin Air directly to complain and was completely dismissed. (even though I was in my 30 day window to return). I did hear from a nicer lady from the place I actually bought it from (through austin air's website?) and she convinced austin air to send me a new filter. It has not changed anything. For all its promises, I cannot say it produces any results on any of them. I am very disappointed with it.
