I have had this dehumidifier for several months now. It has worked great. It very quickly brought the humidity levels down to where I wanted them. The fan design allows you to put the unit right against the wall and the unit is quiet. I have no complaints. Also, the customer service at Sylvane was FANTASTIC. I would do business here again!!!

Impressed By Performance But Had Direct Drain Difficulty

The unit should include, from now on, a direct drain hose that can easily be connected/screwed on/pushed on to the sleeve that is there for this purpose. I had to buy 2 hoses in my attempt to get the right diameter hose end that could fit over the sleeve. Ultimately, I had to use Vaseline which made it possible to slip the hose on to the connector. I didn't anticipate this problem, but I am very impressed by the Danby's performance. However, I can't give it a 5 because of the time I had to spend getting the direct drain going.

After investigating dehumidifiers for two weeks , I finally chose the Danby DDR4009EE-D dehumidifier. I needed a quiet model because it was going into our basement office. I read it was very quiet and was even told by one of the Sylvane sales people the same. Well, it is very noisy, to the point where I shut it off during the day because I can't stand it. I even shut the basement door so I won't hear it upstairs. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this model dehumidifier.
