I recently purchased a Danby Dehumidifier after reviewing an article on Consumer Reports website. Your sales person was very professional and answered all my questions. The best surprise was after ordering on a Thursday morning and not expecting the product until Monday, it arrived on Friday afternoon - the next day. Wow!!!

I've had it operating for over 1 week and am very satisfied with the product and your online store. Thanks for making a difficult process work well!

Does a great job drying out my basement. Pretty quiet but when I'm in the basement I can still hear it. You can set how dry you want your basement.

Looking for a Danby Dehumidifier

I was looking for a new dehumidifier so I went to Sears where I bought several in the past. I found one on sale. Before I went back to Sears I checked Consumer Reports rating. I found their best buy no. 1 choice was a Danby Dehumidifier. The Danby 65 pint one was rated excellent for water removal, humidistat accuracy, and energy efficiency, and very good for low noise. The Danby was rated 87 out of 100 and the Sears was rated only 77. I tried to find an official Danby site online so I could call them and get a list of local distributors. They gave me 9 dealers but none had any Danby 65 pint dehumidifiers in stock. They were back ordered. I called the company back and they recommended I contact Sylvane, an online store, which they knew had the DDR6588EE dehumidifiers.
I ordered one from Sylvane because Danby recommended you and because Consumer Reports had recommended Danby. Consumer Reports introduced me to company I never heard about named Danby and Danby introduced me to a supplier I never heard about. Because I trusted Consumer Reports I now trust Danby and I now trust Sylvane. The dehumidifier I received works excellently well. I am delighted to do business with you and will recommend Danby and Sylvane to my friends. Thank you. James Emerick

Disappointing

The product worked great initially. Then we had a problem with the drain leaking, so we just stopped using it and just emptied the bucket. We put it away for the winter and brought it out in spring and it does not work. I called Danby customer service and they were horrible. Initially, the item was still under warranty. They told me to clean the filter. I did that and by the time I got through to customer service, my warranty ran out (yes, it was THAT close unfortunately). Danby would not honor any part of the warranty. They suggested I take it to a service dealer that is 70 miles away from my home. I told them I thought that was ridiculous and asked if I could ship it to them for repair. They told me that they don't do repairs. So... my options are very limited at this point. I can take a day off work and drive the stupid thing 70 miles for repair (then another day and 70 more miles to go back and get it -- and who knows what it might cost). I can try to find someone else to fix it. Or I can throw it away. Based on what I paid, including tax and shipping, the cost of using this dehimidifier was about $100/month.
