Excellent air cleaner. There are 2 heavy smokers in this household and this air cleaner does an amazing job even on the low/quiet setting.

I researched this air purifier and chose it based on reliability, quietness, and low maintenance. Although I have only had it about 4 months now, so I cannot fully vouch on reliability, I am very pleased with how quiet it is and its low maintenance. I have two large German Shepherds and a wood stove which both cause a lot of extra dust, and also odor. I am very pleased with how much dust the air purifier has removed from the air - I can dust without the next day looking like I hadn't in a week!! Now I need only to dust every couple of weeks as a touch up. Our air also is so much fresher.

For maintenance, there is the pre-filter, which I just wash off in the sink about once per week (takes 15 seconds), and even with all the woodstove ash and dog hair around, it seems I only have to clean the main electrostatic filter once every two months (have only done it once so far - the first time after two months, but maybe it will be longer now that the purifier cleaned up the air). This is a little more involved, as it needs to be washed in the dishwasher and then allowed to dry before reinserting. I do not have a dishwasher, so I have to heat up some water and allow it to soak, but that still is not a big deal as it does not seem to need it very often.

I would recommend this purifer to anyone - it also does a large area (I think over 500 square feet), though it seems to have an effect even beyond that if you put it in the right location.

This air cleaner works great. I have an electronic air cleaner on my central air conditioner, but it causes a very bad ozone odor. My wife complained to the point that I had to turn it off. After a couple years of no electronic air cleaner, I bought a C-90B and put it in our bedroom on the second floor of our home. It is quiet and does not give off any ozone smell. I then, after a couple months, bought another one and placed it on the first floor of our home, in the living room. Works great. I then purchased another one and put it in my lake house. All three work perfectly and I could not be more pleased!

I purchased my Friedrich C90B on-line about two month ago and the unit arrived quickly. My wife has Asthma and I suffer from allergies. The unit has impressed me with it's ability to clean the air in our bedroom. I have been amazed at the amount of dust the unit has removed from what I considered to be a clean room.

Before I make a major purchase I check with Consumer Reports. The Friedrich was ranked #1. So with free shipping and a #1 rating with Consumer Reports the choice was easy. I am very pleased with the unit and plan to buy another in the near future. I highly recommend the Friedrich C90B to anyone who wants very clean air.

Our new Friedrich air machine is so quiet you hardly know it's running. Since we have located it in our living room, we are pleased that the machine is good looking as well as efficient. It has a small red light that makes a nice night light in the dark room.

Our allergy situation makes it imperative to keep air in our apartment as clean as possible. We researched through "Consumer's Digest" to buy the best machine we could find, and the Friedrich was top rated. (This magazine was several years old, but we trust that their research is still true.) Since we've had our machine only about one week we can't say anything more--except that we're happy to have made this choice. People at Sylvane have been very helpful with our purchase.

This product works like a dream I've had mine for a while now. It works and its the best air Purifier I've ever owned. Best part is I don't ever have to replace the filter just wipe off and shove back in good to go! The other Units with this are rated extremely low at cleaning air. This Unit is HUGE so have a nice sized area ready for it. Trust me its worth the price and the room it takes!

The product works extremely well. It captures a lot of dust and lint from our carpet and everyday living. I have noticed a significant improvement in my allergies and for that I am truly happy.

We rate this 4 1/2. Following remodeling we have a significant amount of attic dust leaking into house. To remedy this, first we tried a hybrid electrostatic/hepa filter with a half-house capacity, then added a professional-grade ozonator AND small hepa air cleaners in each room, for a total of six air cleaners throughout the house. Still there was dust. Now we try the Friedrich C 90-B and delighted, we find it controls the dust -- it clears the air quickly and quietly. No fuss. Hardly any sound. After three days, we just cleaned it and wow! it's simple to wash in our standard-sized dishwasher.

For us, so far the only downside is that the electrostatically-charged air may cause some lung irritation for a family member who has asthma, so we don't leave it on full-blast in a room with no ventilation 24 - 7.

Have ordered two more units, including one for the attic! Very happy.

After trying two other types of air cleaners, I finally had the sense to buy the top rated C90A air cleaner. Although it is not the prettiest unit in the world, it cleans the air like a dream. My daughter smokes and I do not. It's a relief to see how much sticky nicotine (and other junk) the cleaner takes out of the air. My unit has worked without any problem for going on 5 years now. The filters for the the C90B unit work for the C90A and I understand the basic difference is the C90B cleans a slightly larger area. The Friedrich is the best out there!
