The Permalife Air Purifier is quiet and works well. The air is cleaner and household odors from cooking etc. are elliminated in just a few minutes.

We would recommend this unit to anyone that has allergies or breathing problems. It has helped us to breathe easier in our home.

Don not wash Carbon filter replave

Carbon filters need replaced NOT washed or you will not benifit from the activated charcoal absorbs odors from pets, smoking, cooking and more.

Unit works great to controll dust, pollen and pet dander. Keep up on the replacement of the carbon pre-filter though. There are carbon filters available for this unit other than hunter. Idylis has a carbon filter that works great.

The machine itself is a good product, but don't be fooled by the claim that the filter never needs to be replaced. What they fail to mention is that the carbon "pre-filter" will need to be replaced every 60 - 90 days at a cost of about $30. Also, this "pre-filter" is difficult to find in retail stores as well as on line. It seems the Hunter Company has the corner on the market for this "pre-filter." However, allow me to share a secret with you. Carbon filters can be washed. I place it in the sink or bath tub, spray with foaming bathroom cleaner, let it soak for about 5 minutes, then rinse clean with hot water. After allowing it to air dry, it goes back in the machine for another 60 - 90 days. You can probably extend the life of your carbon filter for up to a year by washing it. In addition, you may want to vacuum the permanent filter each time you wash your carbon "pre-filter."
