We purchased the IQAir HealthPro for my son's bedroom because he has been suffering from asthma triggered by colds and/or allergies. We are hoping to reduce the particulates in his bedroom since that's where he spends about half his time. The air purifier is supposed to be the best - it removes a higher percentage of particles of smaller size than any other purifier and it does so without generating ozone. HEPA filters are notorious for being loud. We were concerned that the noise of this air purifier might be too much for a bedroom. It is rather loud on the highest setting, but on the lowest setting we could hardly hear it. The lowest setting is even too quiet for white noise. For our son's 12 ft x 12 ft x 8 ft bedroom we set the purifier on setting #2 (~75 cfm) which will clean the air ~4x an hour with minimal white noise. Settings 1 to 3 seemed quiet enough for a small bedroom when occupied. The timer is a great feature. It allows us to automatically turn on the purifier an hour before my son goes to bed and switch it off when he typically wakes up. The IQAir HealthPro air purifier is really well built. It's solid. And it is easy to replace the filters since it is made with stacked modules. We really like that. Although the purifier is easy to setup and the directions are pretty clear, it was nice to have the included DVD that explains how to set the timer and change the filters. My son hasn't coughed since the purifier was set up in his room. But, the real test is probably yet to come with hayfever season. Perhaps another IQAir HealthPro is in our future. I have a spot picked out in our bedroom.
