I purchased IQ Air HealthPro about 12 years ago and it still works great. At the time I was using an Austin Air as well as an ionizer. Since birth, I have had tested allergic to dust and various fragrances. I definitely could tell an improvement with the IQ Air HealthPro in that it seemed to remove finer particulates from the air and it felt easier to breath. I was so impressed that I bought a second IQ Air - this time a HealthPro Plus with the V5 odor and gas removal cell. It is still working great as well. Sometimes lately either one will make a slight high pitch noise but I have found if I move it around on the tile floor, the high pitch noise goes away; so I think the motor may be sensitive to being off balance but I am not sure about that.

I enjoy the HealthPro Plus even more and I especially like it near the kitchen as it removes cooking odors! Both of my IQ Air HealthPros use the HEPA filter for which this review is for. I think the HEPA filters used in the IQ Air are superior to the other brands I have tried. At times over the years, I have wondered if my allergies were cured so I would try turning off the air purifiers. When I turned it back on over the next couple of days I could definitely tell an improvement in ease of breathing, relaxation, comfort, and less sinus congestion. As I have been using these two machines for over a decade, you can well imagine that I have purchased A LOT of filters!

Sylvane is my seller of choice for the filters. When I purchase a new air purifier, I will definitely consult them! I actually had two sellers other than Sylvane have IQAir factory send them the filter and then put it in a box and then send the filter to me! Sylvane ALWAYS dropships the IQ AIr filters directly to the customer so you get it faster and you are assured that it is brand new from manufacturer. I have contacted Sylvane customer service by email and phone several times over the years and have found them always to be friendly, professional and helpful.

I’ve purchased from Sylvane before and there has never been a problem. Everyone I’ve spoken to has been very friendly and helpful. With the discounts they offer, and free shipping, they’re probably the best price you’ll find as well.

I recently purchased a replacement HEPA filter for the IQAir Healthpro Plus. The unit is just over 2 years old and has not had a single problem. It’s been running at a setting of around 2 almost constantly since I bought it. Even with all that constant running this is the first time the HEPA filter has been changed, so the filters do have a good life span. The filter indicators are a good guide as to when to change the filters. I live next to farms so it’s very dusty, otherwise I’m sure I could have easily gotten alot more time out of the filters in a more normal environment. It helps a lot to use a pre-filter. Some hardware stores carry washable, course, natural fiber filters that you can cut to size and use very inexpensively. Make sure that it is not restrictive and that you wash or change it frequently.

The unit is being run in about a 500 sq. ft. room and there is a noticeable difference. On a setting of 2 I can slightly feel the air coming from the unit at about 15 feet away if there is no activity in the room, so there is good air movement at that setting. It is very quite at a setting of 1 and 2, at 3 or 4 it’s bearable, and at 6 it’s pretty loud, about like a vacuum cleaner. At 6 it will change the air in an average room pretty quick though.

The timers are nice but I haven’t used them since the unit is always on. I bought the IQAir because it seems to have the best reputation among HEPA filters. So far it has lived up to it.
