I purchased our IQAir HealthPro Plus three years ago because I'd developed a mold allergy due to a mold problem in our home. This air purifier sustained me until we finally found and eliminated the problem last summer (required stripping out carpet, repairing built-in humidifier, replacing concrete steps connected to room, washing walls with ammonia, replacing furniture - amazing process!). Without the IQAir, we would have had to move out. It's also extremely portable despite its size. Whenever anyone mentions needing a serious air purifier, I recommend this one.

I purchased this for a few reasons:

1. My new next door neighbors are smokers and smoke has spread into my apartment.
2. My ionic air purifier was not powerful enough to remove smoke in the air.
3. I am concerned about the smoke as well as air quality of New York City, especially for my newborn baby.
4. I have received 2 positive personal reviews for IQAir. Both friends have bought another one since their first purchase. One of them also purchased from Sylvane.

My impression after a couple of months use:

1. It takes only minutes to remove smoke from the air as well as cooking/kitchen odor.
2. In fact, the air has a definite cleaner/fresher smell, which was not achievable with the ionic air purifier.
3. At level > 4, the machine can be noisy.
4. The wheels make it easy to move around my apartment. Definite plus not having to buy a few purifiers.
5. Size can be a negative, but it does the job.

Overall, I will recommend to all my friends interested in an air purifier.

This is our third IQAir HealthPro Plus Air Purifier. We have one on each floor of our house. These air purifiers have helped my daughter's allergies and asthma immensely. We feel good that the air quality in our brand new house is better because of these purifiers. We have an Energy Star home and it is very air tight. This is a great product!

We have had the IQAir HealthPro Plus for a few months now and its been great. Our office has an allergy-sufferer and we have noticed his symptoms have definitely improved after getting this purifier. We also had an issue with cigarette smoke from outside making it into our office suite and that has been greatly reduced. For this we are thankful.

What's especially great about this unit is the timer function, you simply set it and forget it. With on/off and day of week programming, we simply set it to turn on at 6am and off at 6pm Monday-Friday so when we come into work we have clean air and its on long enough for people who work into the early evening. Its also very easy to set up and it will even tell us on the display when the filters need to be changed. I also like the quality Swiss workmanship. Based on my own experience, I would definitely recommend this for any individual, family or even small-medium offices spaces.

Best Air Purifier I've Ever Owned

I have owned air purifiers for years, products that are well known to the public. Actually, I had not heard of the IQAir HealthPro Plus Air Purifier until about two years ago when a friend began recommending this product. I read reviews about the IQAir, but I was skeptical that this product could possibly be any better than those I had installed in not only our home, but that of our daughter. Then disaster struck. Our daughter's Oreck Air Purifier stopped working and a smaller unit designed for a single room had become noisy. The small unit had always been somewhat problematic in operation. I decided it was time to try something new. That is when I decided to give the IQAir Health Pro Plus Air Purifier a try.

Within a week I realized that the Sylvane product was far superior to the Oreck purifier. I promptly purchased a second IQAir Health Pro Plus Air Purifier for our home. Our Oreck was relegated to a bedroom. And, like my friend in Los Angeles, I've become an advocate for the Sylvane equipment. The IQAir is far and away the best air purifier I have ever owned.

Excellent product. I bought this to help combat the odor in my house from owning 4 dogs. Within a few days of plugging it in, the dog odor smell was completely gone and has remained so for the last few months since it has been running. It has also eliminated the odor from have new drywall installed. I've also noticed that there is dramatically less dust build up around the house. The only con I can think of is the noise. It is quite loud on the highest setting, which is its most effective setting. To deal with this we program it to run on high when we are not home and on a lower setting when we are. All in all, I am thrilled with this IQAir and I wish I'd bought it years ago.

Amazing Air Purifier!

We purchased this item one week ago. This time two weeks ago our daughter came home from college and was only able to stay in our home for 2 hours and she had to go back because our cats aggravate her asthma. This week when she came home she sat in our living room with all three cats and the air purifier turned on a low speed and did not so much as cough for nine hours!!! We just rolled it into her bedroom and she slept with absolutely no asthma symptoms. We are so excited about our results we have decided to purchase another one for our basement family room. After three years of watching her suffer every time she came home we finally found a perfect solution!!!!

Best Air Cleaner I Have Found

Like many people posting here, I did a fair amount of research before purchasing an IQAir HealthPro which I later upgraded to the HealthPro Plus. We live in a high rise in a major city, luckily along Lake Michigan so there is some fresh air around.

Unfortunately, being in a large city there is also a lot of dust and dirt from never ending construction as well as cars and truck pollution. My wife had asthma which always had to be controlled with a variety of drugs and inhalers. She was also undergoing several rounds of chemotherapy so her overall resistance to opportunistic infections was greatly reduced.

We got the IQAir soon after moving into our condo and the result was very dramatic. Her reliance on the asthma drugs and inhalers dropped to almost zero, needed only when we went outside. All through the course of five rounds of chemotherapy she never once got an infection, the flu, a cold or any other respiratory problem. Also there is no visible dust in the air like there used to be.

The unit is in the bedroom running 24/7 on setting 6 for 16 hours then on 2 or 3 during the evening. The IQAir has been in constant use for going on five years. Had to send it back for a problem this year with the processor, it wouldn't turn off and then run sporadically, but IQAir customer service was great.

I have two other low price HEPA filters in the second room, living room and dining room, but they don't do the same job as the IQAir. In fact with the other units, which run constantly on high speed, I can see build up of grime and dust on the outflow area telling me that the air coming out is not totally clean. Not so on the IQAir, the outflow area is perfectly clean after four plus years of continuous operation!

I purchase the Compact first due to the cost of this equipment and within a week was so happy with it I went and bought another the HealthPro Plus. We’ll a couple of years ago I moved to a 3500 sq ft house and have been thinking about getting another one to cover more square footage in the home. Don’t even think about buying anything else but IQ Air! If this is your first one spend the extra cost for the carbon unit is well worth the money, but be careful not to run it when cooking it will prematurely use up the carbon. The best way I found to use this equipment is to air out your home first, then run the air cleaner. You will be thankful that you spent the money on IQ Air, I promise! I have spent many hours researching portable air cleaners and have tried others just to sell them after I got my IQ Air. This units make you feel heather wants that worth? I have tried others and there is no comparison you will feel & breathe that it was worth every penny. I have been buying my replacement filters from Sylvan for years now and they are a great company to do business with as well. I can’t say enough about the equipment I guess that is why I own (3) units now.

The Best Air Cleaners Money Can Buy

For me, the IQair creates a noticeable difference in air quality in whatever room it happens to be in. I’ve got two other less expensive purifiers ($100-300 range) that don’t come close in creating the sense of freshness in the air that I get when I walk into a room with the IQair running. (It might have been smarter to put aside the money for those units and save for another higher end purifier). My wife likes having the IQair around for her workouts when I take the trouble to haul it down to our musty basement for her. It’s not light, that’s for sure, but the wheels make it fairly easy to move around the house – just not down the stairs. I haven’t had to order new wheels yet, but having been forewarned by other reviews about the wheels being fragile, I take care to be gentle when moving it around.

I can’t say it’s kept me free of colds and/or all sinus problems, but I think that would be too much to expect. Of course I can’t prove it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it has aided my recovery time. Whoever gets sick gets the IQair in their room. I can’t afford two but if I had a choice I’d buy another few: one exclusively for the basement and another two for the bedrooms and living area. I really do like it.

The replacement filters add to the long-term cost of the IQair, ranging from a pretty reasonable $59 for the prefilter to more of an ouch of $189 for the HEPA filter. That part of the deal isn’t quite so fun, but it makes sense, and is an issue to take into consideration with any air purifier.

Sylvane was a great company to order from. I had some questions when ordering on the web, so I called, and the assistance I received was excellent. Their shipping and return policies are generous and alleviated some of the concerns I had about purchasing a large, expensive item off the web. I’ve also ordered replacement filters through their site and will continue to do business with them.

The IQ Air HealthPro Plus is the best air cleaner on the market. Being an allergy sufferer for the past few years here in South Texas, I've searched high and low for right air cleaner and now I've found it in the Health Pro Plus. We've tried units from most of the major manufactures (Honeywell/Kenmore, Hunter, Air Free, Sharper Image) and all have not even come close to the HealthPro Plus.

My son suffers from severe allergies and for first time gave two thumbs and a toe up for this awesome unit. Breathing itself became enjoyable again and it's something we all take for granted. You can feel the difference in the air quality within an hour of turning the unit on. After unpacking, the setup was a breeze and the coasters help with moving it from room to room. Instructions packed within were straightforward and easy to follow. The included remote helps with changing fan speeds when not within reach of the control panel. The unit offers six different speeds to suit your air cleaning needs. The lowest setting is a touch above a whisper; perfect for night time use. While at the other end of the spectrum, at its highest, you will get your hair blown back. This unit really Moves Air at the Max setting! There's also a built in clock used for setting the timer. You can have the unit turn on medium to max while you're away at work and slow down to low when at home, it's perfect for the family. We've had the unit on for almost 12 hours and it's been Wonderful.

There aren't enough words to express my appreciation. The HealthPro Plus is Hospital Grade and well worth it! Thank you Sylvane and IQ Air for making this wonderful product available.

Wouldn't buy anything else!

We have used IQ Air products in our home for the past year, basically since I was diagnosed with allergy-induced asthma. The difference in the air quality of our living area is noticeable and appreciable in a reduction of my symptoms. We even bring our smaller HealthPro Compact along when we travel to the cabin or to the in-laws. It’s a bit bulky and a little heavier than a suitcase, but the comfort and relief it brings is WELL worth the extra effort to transport it.

At home, we run one the HealthPro Compact in our bedroom and the IQAir HealthPro Plus in the main living area. They both run 12-24 hours a day and we’ve only had to replace the filters ($60ish) once. With other models, I felt like we were buying expensive filters all the time. We just bought another unit to use in our second bedroom and to keep at the cabin in the summer.

Like I said, we’ve tried some other brands and models, but haven’t noticed the level of success in terms of symptoms that we’ve had with the IQ Air products. We’ve tried Honeywell units, Sharper Image’s Ionic Breeze (worthless!!) and Holmes products. All had terrible to poor results. With the IQ Air HealthPro, I noticed a reduction in my symptoms within the first week and I was sleeping much more soundly (getting more air) within the first few nights. Since purchasing our units, I sleep 7-8 hours with little interrupted episodes of coughing and wheezing like I did before. Even my husband who does not suffer from allergies noticed a huge difference in his sleep as well.

It makes a bit of noise, but nothing terrible or distracting. I love it so much, that I don’t sleep well if it’s not on!
Overall, I love it and I wouldn’t buy another brand if someone made me.

Best Air Purifier

I purchased it for my friend about two weeks ago.

He has serious sinus problem. I think he has had the problem since 2000. He takes some medicine, but it does not help at all. His doctor said there is no cure for his problem and he just needs to live with it. He even said that he may just move to Texas! He tried everything and nothing worked. He recently moved to an apartment. His sinus problem has gotten worse. He cannot sleep at night. He sometimes has to blow his nose so many times that his nose bleeds.

I decided to buy an air purifier for him so that he can at least get some sleep at night without waking up several times a night. I did my research. However, there were too many products on the market claiming they are the best ones. I could not decide even after my research. When I finally called Sylvane, they directed me to IQ Air HealthPro Plus. They asked me several questions just to make sure this was the right one for him. Although it was expensive, it was what I wanted. I went ahead and purchased it. I received it within a week. It was very easy and fast! It was also very easy to install.

He set the purifier to Speed 2 throughout the day and night. It is very quiet. He has been doing well. I am satisfied with it. I will definitely recommend this product to anybody. Thank you for your assistance!

I purchased the IQair Healthpro plus after extensive research. We adopted a stray cat only to find that 3 of the 4 family members are allergic to her. It started with itchy eyes and quickly progressed to wheezing and coughing. We knew that she'd be around long enough for us to find her a new home and in the mean time we had to breath! We've used a rabbit air purifier with some success to combat pollen allergies but it just wasn't helping much with the cat dander. 4 hours after plugging in the IQAir healthpro we felt better. 24 hours and most of our symptoms were gone.

It has also worked very well to remove my son's model paint smells. He parks the unit about 4 feet from his desk when he's working on his models and the paint and glue smells are not circulating through out the house, and are detectable only when he has the paint or glue bottle open. So I would say it's working well on the vocs.

It's quiet enough for sleeping on speed 2, and almost silent on fan speed 1. I keep it on 3 or 4 fan speed during the day, and turn it down to 2 at night. There is no smell from the unit, the air flows from all 4 sides near the top so it doesn't create a breeze unless you turn it on high. At high fan speed settings however you wouldn't really want to be in the room, good to super clean when you are out.

It's a pricy machine for sure but it seems to be very well made, I have wheeled it from living room to bedroom daily for the last two weeks with no problems. The filters seem to be well sealed, no air leaks so that I feel sure that the air is being drawn through the filters and not around them. It's a large unit but being on casters it is easily moved so that it can be out of the way for whatever is happening in the room. Over all, I am extremely pleased with the IQAir HealthPro Plus.

We recently purchased our fourth HealthPro Plus from Sylvane and we couldn't be happier with this air purifier or with Sylvane. The purifier was at my house literally one day after I placed the order and that was with standard shipping.

My 4 year old daughter has allergies and probably asthma. We live in a very old house and I started buying these after my daughter started coughing at night. The poor little thing would cough and cough and we would have to go in and prop her up and feed her cough drops at various intervals throughout the night. This mostly occurred during the cold dry winter months.

I did a lot of research on why this might be happening on health and allergy websites and came across how a HEPA air purifier helped other people suffering from allergies. Based upon the testimonials we took the leap and bought our first purifier for her room. We saw an immediate difference in just a few days. We quickly noticed that she was coughing less and her eyes looked much better in the morning. After seeing the results with her, we ended up putting one in each of our 3 bedrooms and have now begun to put them in the common rooms.

We recently saw a pediatric allergist who officially diagnosed her with allergies and subsequently prescribed the use of a HEPA Air Purifier. When we told the allergist that we had already been using the IQAir HealthPro Plus series for about 2 years he mentioned that they were an excellent choice and that we should continue their use.

Another great side benefit of these purifiers is that we have virtually no dust in the rooms where they are anymore. In an old house with hardwood floors, I used to remember being appalled by the dust bunnies but they are no more. And, these purifiers eliminate any odors, so rooms smell fresh and clean even in a musty old house.

My wife who also suffers from allergies strongly advocates them to her friends with small kids and the moms at daycare. We can't imagine a life without them anymore and every time you replace the filters you can see the difference it makes in the air quality in your house. They are expensive but worth every penny.

I recently purchased the IQ Air Health Pro Plus, which turned out to be the best investment I could have made for my health. For years I've dealt with Sinus problems even to the extent of having Sinus surgery, which only helped a little. Since receiving the Health Pro Plus it's been amazing how well I can breath.

The air inside my home is so fresh it makes you not want to go outside. I can tell the air is cleaner and it's a lot easier to breath. The dust in my home decreases daily and has made a huge difference in how many times I have to vacuum a week. I'm sleeping better at night and enjoying a truely restful sleep now, which in turn helps my over all health. I usually keep the speed on 3 unless i'm not in the room and then it goes to a 6 for that extra cleaning. I am enjoying this product and feel good about breathing the IQ Air Health Pro Plus air.

I would also like to say before purchasing this product I spoke with customer service at Sylvane.com. They were very knowledgeable about the product and helpful in making my decision. I found them to be extremly courteous and didnt feel pressured at all. Most companies are designed to make a sale no matter what, but in my dealing with Sylvane I truely felt they cared about my concerns and wanted me to be 100% happy with the product. I was very pleased in my overall experience with Sylvane and my new Health Pro Plus. I'm not one that usually purchases products over the internet, but I will purchase again from this company no questions asked.

After spending a lot of money on cheaper air cleaners that would not work, I finally decide to spend my hard-earned money on one that would work because both my wife and daughter had severe sinus problems. The IQ Air Health Pro Plus is made in Switzerland, unlike many others that were made in China. It comes with a five-year warranty.

Better yet, I found that Sylvane has the best customer service, offers free shipping and a free 30-day return (unlike other companies that will charge a re-stocking fee). I received my unit within four days after I ordered it and my whole family fell in love with it right away. It actually works and even gets rid of kitchen odor. I moved it to our bedroom two nights ago, my wife and I both slept a lot better.

Sylvane's customer service is simply excellent. By the way, I had to call IQ Air's technical service and they were also wonderful. What more can I say?

Excellent Air Purifier

I had severe sinus problems which lasted about ten years due to a mold problem which we had in a house we used to live in. There was not much talk about mold problems at that time such as there has been since then. We ran an internet business out of a damp basement. It was slow getting the health problems and slow getting rid of them. We purchased several more inexpensive purifiers but, in the long run, they were really a waste of money. We moved to a new and much drier house five years ago. At that time we purchased two IQAir HealthPro Line air purfiers. They both run on the highest speed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are excellent machines with no problems ever.

Although the high quality filters are expensive, they do an excellent job. Considering the previous grief and medical expenses, it is a cheap price to pay for clean air. The purifier tells you how much life is left on the two filters and when to change them. Changing them is quick and easy.

The service from Sylvane has been very good. Due to heavy useage, we have purchased many filters over the past five years and only had one problem where one item was not sent. It was easily and quickly corrected by Sylvane. I would recommend the IQAir machine for anyone looking for a top quality purifier that will last a long time.

After trying several other air purifiers on the market, I finally found one that works. I had been looking for an air purifier that would eliminate the cigarette smoke pouring in from a neighbor’s unit in my apartment complex, but had no success until purchasing the IQAir Healthpro nine months ago [Editor: This customer is reviewing the plus model). The purifier produces a pleasant smell in the air and eliminates all traces of smoke in the room. It is not quite strong enough to clean the entire apartment simultaneously, but I usually place it in my bedroom so that I can breathe freely at night. The unit is on the expensive end, but if you need tiny particles such as smoke removed from the air, less expensive versions will simply not work. You must have a gas filter in place to remove micro particles.

On the negative side, the casters (rolling wheels) are cheaply made. Mine broke almost immediately. I contacted the manufacturer and was sent a replacement set free, but you only get one free replacement. I have been careful to carry the unit rather than using the rollers when transporting across carpet. If the unit will be placed on a hard surface, the casters should work acceptably. The other drawback to this machine is the high cost of filters. My filters did not last as long as advertised, but I run the unit 24 hours a day, and at the highest speed at night. The unit is loud, but I like white noise when sleeping, so I see that as a positive rather than negative.

This is my first experience with purchasing from Sylvane. I purchased two filters (HEPA and the prefilter). The products arrived quickly, and best of all there were no tax or shipping costs. The prices offered by Sylvane were in line with the lowest costs that I found on the Internet, so the free shipping induced me to buy from Sylvane.

I would recommend both IQAir Healthpro and Sylane to anyone wishing to purchase a high quality air purifier at a reasonable price.

We have been using an IQ Air Health Pro Plus for 2 years now and it truly is the best air cleaner available. My wife has asthma and this cleaner has not only helped her breathe better, but the V-5 filter keeps our room fresh smelling. And the Health Pro Plus' filter change lights always let us know in advance when a filter needs to be replaced. We purchased the original Health Pro Plus and all of our filters from Sylvane and they have always been professional, on time, and have always had the best prices and policies.

This item is well built. You can definitely see the quality. The filters are thick and the housing airtight. The display on top of the unit has timers for filter life and timers for automatic on/off operation. The unit comes with a remote, which works at many angles and distances about 6 feet away.

My only wish is that one day, they will make this unit with an auto-odor and dust setting, so it can clean better when the conditions are worse in my house.

My husband and I spent a few months searching for a perfect air purifier for our soon-to-arrive baby girl and my husband. My husband is allergic to dust and I wanted to provide the best air quality for the newborn. I was recommended by many people around me to try this IQ Air Health Pro Plus Air Purifier.

Unfortunately, the first IQ air purifier we got from Sylvane was defective. I called Sylvane for a replacement unit and the customer service was excellent. We got a new unit within a week.

We've been using the new unit for about two weeks now and it is working beautifully! I would recommend the IQ Air Health Pro Plus Air Purifier to anybody seeking better air quality and Sylvane for an excellent customer service.

Don't Get This For Smoke

I should have bought the IQAir Multigas! I rented an apartment with a smoker in the same building. Smoke came through vents and walls. I thought this model would be good enough since no one else could really smell much smoke and since I was only going to be here for a year. Well, no, actually, I didn't find that it helped much, if at all. I can't really vouch for its ability with other particles, since I don't have other allergies, but for odors and smoke it's nearly worthless.

I just hated to spend so much on the Multigas when I was going to need it for such a short time. Looking back on my experience with air purifiers (I tried other brands), I really think no air purifier can work that well with a smoky apartment because you're always going to have to breathe the smoke before it goes through the purifier. Frankly, given how much these things cost, you might come out cheaper just buying out of your lease!

One more note: IQAir manual and packaging are superior; the remote is a very nice feature. Also IQAir customer service seems to be good.
