The Santa Fe Compact Dehumidifier works great. I am using the optional ducting for both the intake and exhaust. So far so good. It is somewhat noisy, but I have it in a furnace room dehumidifying my finished basement.

Small Workhorse

We built our home in 2004, we have an unfinished basement with solid concrete walls. I was told by the builders to run a dehumidifier, but never did listen. Over the next few years, the basement began to form an odor. Things that we stored down there became moldy or grew a film on it ... yuck! Also, my oldest son was affected by the mold in the air. It was to the point that we didn't want to go down there.

I decided to purchase the Santa Fe Compact Dehumidifier. I hooked it up the same day I received it from Sylvane. It drains directly into a sump pump we already had. It ran constantly for the first 48 hrs or so sucking out a stream of humidity. Wow it did a great job!! Currently it has been in use for over 2 months. There is no odor. After a good cleaning, everything we have stored downstairs is mold and film free. The basement area is about 1600 sq ft. I've only seen a small increase in my electric bill which was also a nice suprise.

The Santa Fe Compact is a small workhorse. I would highly recommend it. The only negative thing I could say is that it is a little noisy if you're in the basement. Otherwise, it was worth the investment. We use our basement regularly playing with the kids. My oldest son is allergy-free and back to normal.

I installed the Santa Fe Compact Dehumidifier in my 1220 sq. ft crawl space. I used the hanging installation kit and the duct attachment. It only took a few hours to install. It has lowered the humidity from 60% down to 34% in 24 hours. I have the unit set on the normal humidity setting as suggested in the user manual. I will wait until the weather warms up to see if I can drive the humidity low enough to kill off the mold in the crawl space. So far the product is working as advertised. It was easy to install, and the manual provided useful information. The service from Sylvane was also exceptional. I paid for the 3 day shipping and the unit arrived before Christmas day. Great product and great service!!!!

Outstanding Product

This product was recommended to me by an expert in the field of mold removal and dehumidification. The product makes no noise, works like a dream (so far no maintenance), and with the efficiency of dehumidification, NO further mold has been found in my basement. I wish I had known to install this before I needed it in a rush.

Dry and odor free basement

Unit was easy to install with the duct kit. I put it in our furnace room and installed a vent to our living area. Now it's out of site and drains right into our floor drain. It is a little louder than I hoped it would be, but it's keeping our basement dry and odor free, so we're happy with it.

Our family recently purchased a new home with a large, unfinished basement. The house had been vacant for several months with no air circulation, and as a result, there was a very high level of humidity in the basement. We asked one of our contractors for his advice on how to address the humidity problem, and he recommended the Santa Fe brand, as he was familiar with it and knew it to be reliable.

This was a big ticket purchase for us, and we had many questions to ensure we were buying the right product for our home's specific needs. We called Sylvane customer service on more than one occasion with many questions about the products available to us. The representatives with whom we spoke were very knowledgeable and patient and assisted us with finding the right product. They explained in detail how the ordering process would work and when to expect our unit to arrive.

Everything went very smoothly, just as the customer service representatives described, and our unit arrived on-time. Installation was a breeze, and within one day the humidity level in our basement was normal once again. We are very pleased with the Santa Fe Compact Dehumidifier and our overall experience working with Sylvane.

Having owned a Kenmore dehumidifier which rattled and leaked and didn't work well, I was leery of buying another dehumidifier until I telephoned Sylvane and spoke to Doug about the Santa Fe Compact Dehumidifier. He promptly answered all my questions and also provided data on the manufacturer. Just to make myself feel even more secure, I telephoned the manufacturer who indicated that, indeed, Sylvane was their prime retailer and was very honest and efficient.

Being satisfied, I telephone back at Sylvane and ordered the Santa Fe Compact dehumidifier. Doug not only got the order right, he got the email right - and the order arrived as promised at my door via UPS.

I then installed the dehumidifier and have operated the unit for over a week. It WORKS AS ADVERTISED! IT IS A GREAT UNIT AND I AM DELIGHTED THAT I ORDERED FROM SYLVANE.

An Apparently Good Product...

This product has been operating since October in our summwer home and has been working quite well. What I like about it is that it operates at a low temperature in our cellar. It is very compact and easy to set up. In addition, it appears to be robust in its construction and its materials.

We have only had this operating for 2.5 months so the reader should be aware that this review is not based on a long experience. My sense is that this could be a five star rating, but in fairness to our limited experience, I feel it should be rated a little lower until we have more time to watch it work.
