Soleus Air LX-100

I was traveling through Arkansas last fall and stopped at a Waffle House. Their air conditioner was out of order so the manager had bought a Soleus unit which was just being delivered. It looked like a very interesting product so I wrote down the name and details from the box it came in.
Here in Las Vegas my brother has suffered for several years living in a home with inadequate AC and heat. He has a "swamp cooler" but during our so-called "monsoon season", which just means high humidity in late summer, he is miserable. I found the website and looked for a suitable unit. We found one that had everything he needed and was reasonably priced.
We ordered the Soleus AC/heater/dehumidifier on a Thursday and it came on the following Monday. UPS delivered it upright in the box but it had to be transported to his house on its side. The instructions warned to set the unit upright for at least two hours before starting. This was a very important thing to know. We were impressed with the packaging--a box within a box and plenty of styrofoam packing material, guaranteeing safe arrival.
Several hours later he returned home and started up the unit. My brother is VERY happy with it. The unit cools both the living room and adjoining bedroom, and by turning it slightly toward the kitchen it cools that area as well. He told me the air blowing out the window through the vent is very hot, but the rooms are more comfortable than he can remember them ever being this time of year. With the dehumidifier he is able to store his collection of LPs and music tapes confident that they are safe in the improved environment.
The timer works great and allows him to set the unit to start cooling before he gets home from work. He slept well for the first time in weeks, and the first summer in many years. As hot as it gets in the summer, it gets very cold in the winter and he is already looking forward to a comfortable temperature all year round.
I would recommend this unit or any other Soleus product to anyone needing this type of product. It is more affordable and versatile than an installed wall or window unit.It would be perfect in an enclosed patio, great room, converted garage, workroom or any type of room addition.
