Like other Vornado humidifiers, the Vornado Evap2 Humidifier uses signature Vortex Action technology to promote even humidity coverage from floor to ceiling. That means no uncomfortable dry spots—only long-lasting comfort and relief from harsh dry air when you need it.
Balanced Humidity, Choice of Settings
The Vornado HU1-0029-06R Whole Room Evaporative Humidifier works hard to restore healthy humidity in your environment with multiple settings to suit your room's needs. Choose Automatic operation and the humidifier will automatically maintain your desired humidity level. In this mode, simply set your humidity level between 40% and 60% using the electronic pushbutton controls. A built-in humidistat automatically regulates humidity output and fan operation to maintain balanced humidity in your space. This Vornado evaporative humidifier also operates continuously using two additional fan speeds.

- Fan-Only Mode: Along with three humidification settings, the Vornado Evap2 Evaporative Humidifier features a fan-only mode for year-round use.
- Evaporative Wick Filter: An evaporative wick filter "wicks" up water to distribute moisture while absorbing and removing harmful impurities.

It's decent at keeping the Relative Humidity at 40% in a space about 600 sq. feet, but while on the high mode. It never shuts off, because it's working overtime, all the time.
Picking up and moving the unit is hard, because the frame is flimsy, especially with the tank removed.
Has low output since it's on ALL the time.
My next purchase will be a whole house humidifier to do the job.
Tried to return the unit to Sylvane to swap it out, but it was after the 30 day window.
Vornado, though, has stellar Consumer Service

First of all, the number (HU1-0029-06R) appears nowhere on this product, nor on the instruction manual. We had to look at the ads to find out what product we had. Second, the cleaning instructions must be meant for a different (or larger) Vornado, as they don't apply to this one. That said, the model is easy to use, quiet, efficient. We've only had it one year, and I notice that our old Vornadoes had a very short life span. So we'll see if this one can make it through another year. We do change the filters regularly.
