I love this heater. I returned two other models before buying this one. I researched it on the web and found it to be the best rated for the money. I use it to heat a converted garage that has very little heat. It does the job! The other space heaters did not raise the temp more than two or three degrees in hours and this raises the temp nearly ten degrees in an hour or less. I did not believe a heater this small could do the job but it does! The safety features are great- if I move it while on, it will turn off which makes me feel safe. The remote and timer are a great convenience, and it is very quiet!!! I highly recommend this product!

The heater is encased in a solid secure feeling little housing. I expected a more substantial heater with perhaps a stronger flow of air than I got with this. The strength and ability to heat a room compares with other tiny space heaters I own which were a third of the price, so it was a disappointment. However, I do like that the plug is grounded and that the heater won't likely tip over easily, so would recommend it if this was the primary concern. Other than that, I wasn't impressed.

Have been using Vornado heaters for ten years. Would not purchase another brand.
They have serviced my units under warranty, no questions asked. This model, TVH500 is my favorite. I like the fact that the fan turns off when it reaches the set temperature. I must also add that the remote comes in very handy,too.

This particular Vornado Heater is all heavy
gauge metal. Like all six models of the Vornado
heaters that I own, this one performs very well.
The main thing that people need to know about
Vornado heaters, is to allow at least six or
more feet of open space directly in front of the heater. This will allow the vortex that these
heaters create to circulate and heat all of the
air in the room. If you want a heater that just
heats the space around the heater, this is not
the one. If you want a heater that will last for
years, and will heat the entire room, get this one!

I purchased the heater to keep the enclosed porch warm during the coldest months. I set the temperature and it cycles on/off when it needs to. It works great and I don't worry about overheating or tipping over. It's quiet and very efficient.

We tried this heater twice(tuning on and off), it made such a racket as if the fan blade was hitting something...a definate return. We will look for something else. No problem with the return.

Fan makes loud knocking sound(like an old worn ventilator) when it is turned on. The heater turns off before reaching acceptable heat level

We have a partially finished basement that is lacking the heating ducts to keep the space warm in the winter. The space is a good 10 degrees cooler than our main living level. The heater does a great job! It brings the temp up the needed 8 degrees or so to be comfortable for the kids to play video games and watch movies. I would definitely recommend this product.

I just bought my second Vornado TVH500. I've been using one in an unheated bathroom and it is a pleasure. I get comfortable heat that fills the room almost right away. I've been carrying the unit into my office, which is chilly, and it works well there too. I decided I was tired of carrying it back and forth, so I bought another one. The remote control is handy and the timer lets me set it for as long as I want without having to worry about running it too long. Excellent value and highly functional. No problems at all.

It seems to take a bit of time for the room to heat up to the desired temperature. Other than that, the product is quiet and works fine.
