Comments about Vornado Vortex Heater (AVH2):
Bought for son. Seems to work fine, but hasn't been really cold.
Comments about Vornado Vortex Heater (AVH2):
If you are looking for a heater with hot heat this is not the one for you. The temperature in my living room was probably between 72 and 74 degrees when we turned the heater on. After approximately 15 minutes, I had to turn it off because my legs were so cold. We returned the heater and bought a different one which has proven very satisfactory.

Super product at a reasonable price.
Comments about Vornado Vortex Heater (AVH2):
My first year it worked great, But the next year it only worked for about 2 weeks. One day I heard something pop and the heater stopped working. Now I need to look into what happened to it.
Comments about Vornado Vortex Heater (AVH2):
This space heater is really terrific. We keep it in our son's room because he hasn't figured out how to stay under the covers yet and we don't want to pay to keep the whole house that warm at night. We like this one so much that we're going to buy another one when our new baby comes along.
We had been using a Lasko ceramic heater, which had gotten good reviews, but the thermostat didn't work well -- the room was always too hot or too cold. Our son was waking up in the middle of the night from the heat/cold, and the sound of it turning on and off came through the baby monitor and would wake us up too. The Vornado works much better -- the room is always at exactly the temp we set it at. And it's much quieter than the Lasko was. The fan runs continuously, but it's not that loud, especially if set on low. (I found it to be a little windy in the room when set on high -- we live in a dry climate and too much air circulation can really dry you out at night.)
I much prefer the manual controls on this model to the digital ones on other models, for the same reason other reviewers mentioned -- if you unplug it or if the power goes out, you don't have to reset the settings. (This was also an advantage over the Lasko we had --that one had to be reset every time you turned it on, and the buttons beeped really loudly when you press them -- not great when you're trying to put a sleeping kid in his crib without waking him.)
I really don't have any complaints about this model -- we've had it for 3 months or so now, and it's working great.
