Warm Mist Humidifiers
Warm mist humidifiers typically use an internal heating element to heat the water to a boil and release it into a room as a warm, invisible mist. These units are often considered healthier because they kill waterborne bacteria and mold during the boiling process, which stops these impurities from entering the air and, eventually, your lungs. However, because warm mist humidifiers boil water as part of the humidification process, they carry a risk of causing burns. These units may use a little more electricity than other humidifier types, but they are usually less noisy because they are not equipped with internal fans. Warm mist humidifiers are best for humidifying smaller areas.
