Whole House Humidifiers

A whole home can be effectively humidified either through a large, console humidifier or through an in-duct humidifier.

The console humidifiers listed here are designed to provide moisture to an entire home or building measuring as large as 3,000 sq. ft. in some cases. These units are portable, but are considerably heavy and cannot be moved freely. They are usually placed on the floor in a centralized location, and they come in a range of designs that attractively disguise them as ordinary furniture.

In-duct humidifiers are more expensive humidification systems to purchase, but extremely effective. These units are installed in your ductwork next to your central heating and air conditioning system, and connect directly to the water line in your home. When the air is heated or cooled, it passes through an evaporator pad that has been saturated with water. The air absorbs moisture from this pad and is released into your home as humidified air.
