The Winix PlasmaWave 5500 Air Cleaner uses a 3-stage air filtration system to efficiently rid your air of harmful allergens, unpleasant odors, and illness-causing bacteria.

Carbon Pre-Filter - Air first passes through a carbon pre-filter to trap large particles such as dust, pollen, lint, and pet hair. Formulated with activated carbon material, this filter also absorbs light household odors such as smoke and pet odors.

True HEPA Filter - Next, air passes through a true HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air filter) where 99.97% of allergen particles as small as 0.3 microns are captured and contained. Unlike conventional HEPA filters, this filter is washable and lasts up to 3 times as long as non-washable HEPA filters, saving you the hassle and costs of replacing filters.

PlasmaWave Technology - As the final stage of air-cleaning, the Winix 5500 uses PlasmaWave technology to instantly neutralize airborne viruses, bacteria, chemical vapors, odors, and gases.
