Robust Air Filtration with PlasmaWave
The Winix WAC9500 Air Cleaner thoroughly filters impurities out of your indoor environment and delivers exceptionally clean air around the clock. The air cleaner pulls in room air through the air inlet grille on the front panel and purifies it using a five-stage treatment process:
Antibacterial Pre-Filter
In the first stage of filtration, air passes through a washable mesh pre-filter. The pre-filter traps large airborne particles such as pet hair, dust, pollen, and lint.
High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filter
After air is processed through the pre-filter, it travels through a true HEPA filter. This reusable filter captures 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pet dander, pollen, mold spores, dust, and smoke.
Nano-Silver Mesh
The antimicrobial shield is composed of tiny silver particles. The Nano-silver mesh material provides superior germ protection, neutralizing bacteria on contact.
Carbon Filter
This washable filter is treated with activated granular carbon for advanced odor control. The carbon filter collects chemical vapors and absorbs household odors caused by pets, cooking, organic decay, and cigarette smoke.
PlasmaWave Technology
The final stage of cleaning uses Winix PlasmaWave technology. This feature generates thousands of negatively and positively charged ions each second. As the ions are released, they combine with water vapor in the air to form Hydroxyls. These hydrogen and oxygen molecules attack virus-causing bacteria, chemical vapors, odors, and gases in the air and neutralize them on contact. No harmful ozone is generated during the PlasmaWave process.
Automatic Operation and Built-In Sensors
With advanced automatic capabilities and intuitive sensors, the Winix PlasmaWave 9500 Air Cleaner is simple to operate and easy to maintain. A built-in light sensor automatically programs the air cleaner to operate in sleep mode when the room is dark. This optional function restores the previous settings during the daylight hours.
An air quality sensor automatically monitors your indoor air for dust and odors and adjusts an appropriate fan setting for each air quality level. The odor sensor monitors the volume of cigarette smoke and foul pet smells. This sensor also responds to air contaminants such as insecticides, alcohol, and aerosol sprays. In addition to cigarette smoke, the dust sensor detects large particles, dust, and pollen.
For quick set-it-and-forget-it operation, set the pet air purifier in auto mode. This function automatically adjusts the air purifier settings according to the air quality in your home. Built-in sensors measure the amount of impurities in the air and automatically set the increase or decrease the purification speed accordingly.

I PURCHASED ONE WINIX 9500, I LIKED IT SO MUCH I PURCHASED A SECOND ONE, I LIKE TO ADD THE SECOND ONE CAME IN DAMAGED I CALLED SYLVANE THEY RIGHT AWAY GAVE ME A RGA TO RETURN IT WHICH I DID, THEY SENT ME ANOTHER ONE RIGHT AWAY, THAT ONE DID NOT WORK THE SAME AS THE FIRST ONE SO I CALLED THEM AGAIN, NO QUESTIONS ASKED THEY SENT ME A RGA TO RETURN THAT ONE AND SENT ME ANOTHER ONE THIS THIRD ONE WORKS FINE JUST LIKE THE FIRST ONE. SYLVANE WAS ONE OF THE BEST COMPANYS I EVER DELT WITH. I WOULD RECOMMED THIS COMPANY TO ANY ONE WHO ASKES ME. THE WINIX 9500 WORKS THE BEST I GIVE IT 5 STARS AND GIVE SYLVANE 5 STARS. This pet air cleaner works very well, for I have a dog, cat and 2 love birds. I have noticed it has kept my indoor window screens free of debris from the pets and has cut down on the dust in my home.
On the high setting of Turbo, it runs a little noisy but other than that I would recommend this to anyone! Nice also that it has a timer on it and you can set it on the sleep mode or automatic.

Had been thinking about buying a plasma air cleaner for a while but have a number of HEPA units at home so I put it on hold for a while. However, given the increase in odor at home from kitchen and cigarettes, I decided it was time to buy one. I researched several units and decided on the Winix 9500 for several reasons. While the PlasmaWave technology is known to be a little milder than competing technologies from Japan, it is great for beginners since there is less risk for skin and nasal irritation. The price point, especially great price at Sylvane.com, and the fact that the carbon odor filter is washable is a great plus. After a week of use, both kitchen and cigarette odor has been significantly reduced. Bear in mind that I already have a number of high-end HEPA/carbon units already running. Despite that, the Winix unit has also been able to capture additional dust that the other units were not able to contain. I've been running my Winix unit at Turbo speed for the past month in the bedroom. This setting moves air at a very quick rate and while a noisier than the lower fan settings, the sound is pleasant, similar to air noise inside a plane cabin. The Turbo setting also helps mask some of the buzzing sound from the plasma unit. The buzzing sound is actually a plus since it only occurs when there are contaminants in the air that are being eliminated by the plasma. This is a great buy!

I am a long time allergy sufferer and with spring on the way I figured it was time to invest in an Air Cleaner. I did lots of research and settled on the Winix WAC9500 after comparing various models and reading numerous positive customer reviews. I set it up in near where I sleep and turned it on.
The first thing I noticed was how quiet it is. On the Low to High settings it is barely audible from across the room. I've also read that the power it consumes is very low compared to other models. The dust and odor sensors are sensitive enough to pick up a change in the air from the other side of the room and it does a very effective job of eliminating odors.
My real concern though was whether or not it is effective at removing pollen from the air. With spring hitting Wisconsin early this year and the pollen count being very high I was able to test it out. The Winix WAC9500 passed with flying colors. My nose has not been stuffed at night and gone are the headaches and dry scratchy throat that I have suffered from every year. I highly recommend this product for allergy sufferers.

Very nice unit. Was a little concerned over the noise level mentioned in some of the on-line reviews because my bride has ears like a dog; sensitive, not long and floppy. But no fears, we keep the unit on high all the time with barely a whisper of fan noise and no noise from the Plasma Wave. Simple to setup, surprising air flow and pleasant design.
