Info & Guides

Description

In a room with a tall ceiling, air tends to sit still overhead while the space below stays stuffy. The Haiku Caramel Bamboo Smart Ceiling Fan with LED Light from Big Ass Fans fixes that with 84 inches of hand-balanced Moso Bamboo airfoils and a permanent-magnet motor. It moves a large volume of air without the wobble or hum you might expect from a fan this size.

Most of the comfort control runs on its own. Connect the fan to the Haiku app and a compatible smart thermostat, and it switches between Smarter Heating and Smarter Cooling automatically. The fan and your HVAC system then work together to lower your heating and cooling costs all year.

Key Features and Benefits of the Big Ass Fans 84-In. Haiku Caramel Bamboo Smart Ceiling Fan w/ LED Light

  • High Airflow: The 84-inch span moves 1,500+ CFM, so you feel a steady breeze across a large living area or open-plan space.
  • SenseME Technology: Onboard sensors detect motion along with temperature and humidity, and the fan adjusts its speed so you stay comfortable without picking up the remote.
  • Whisper-Quiet Motor: The permanent-magnet motor runs below 35 decibels even at max speed, so it stays quiet when you need full airflow.
  • Low Energy Draw: The fan draws just 38.1 watts at 0.3 amps on a 110-120 volt circuit, which keeps your running costs low even if it runs all day.
  • Dimmable LED Downlight: The built-in LED light puts out over 2,000 lumens with 16 brightness settings, so you can go from bright task lighting to a soft evening glow.
  • Voice and App: Control the fan and light with the Haiku app or by voice through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
  • Speed Settings: Airflow adjusts across 7 speeds, so you can fine-tune it as the day and your needs change.
  • Whoosh Mode: Varies fan speed quietly to mimic the feel of a natural breeze.
  • Sleep Mode: Customize your sleep settings for all-night comfort at the touch of a button.
  • Included Remote Mounts: The Bluetooth remote comes with a fixed wall mount and a magnetic wall holder, so you can keep it in hand or leave it by the door.
  • Color Options: Choose from bronze, nickel, white, and black finishes to match the fan and light to your décor.
  • Certified and Warrantied: The fan carries cETLus and CE certifications, and Big Ass Fans backs it with a 5-year warranty.

Choose Your Downrod Length

The Haiku line uses a Universal mount with your choice of a 32-inch, 20-inch, or 12-inch downrod, so you can set the airfoil height to suit your ceiling.

  • 32-In. Downrod Universal Mount: This is the longest option, and it brings the fan's overall height to 41 inches, lowering the airfoils toward the living area in rooms with very tall ceilings.
  • 20-In. Downrod Universal Mount: The mid-length 20-inch downrod gives the fan an overall height of 29 inches, a balanced choice for ceilings that are moderately high.
  • 12-In. Downrod Universal Mount: The shortest 12-inch downrod keeps the overall height to 21 inches, so the fan sits nearer the ceiling where headroom matters more than drop.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're trying to move air through a great room or lobby with a tall ceiling, the 84-inch Haiku is sized for the job. Pick your downrod by how far the ceiling sits above head height: the 32-inch drop suits the tallest rooms, and the 12-inch keeps the fan tucked up high. The detail worth knowing is the thermostat pairing, which makes this a year-round tool instead of a summer-only fan. Once SenseME is handling the adjustments, you'll rarely need the remote.
