Info & Guides

Description

Fine sawdust that hangs in the air long after the saw stops is exactly what the Rikon 60-200 2HP Portable Dust Collector goes after. It pulls chips and dust straight from your machine into a cloth filter bag, so less debris settles on your benches and floor. It suits large woodworking areas where several stationary tools share the floor.

The box includes what you need to get running: a 5-inch hose, 2 hose clamps, and all assembly hardware. You also get 2 filter bags. Quick-release band clamps join the upper cloth filter bag to the lower collection bag, so emptying takes less time.

Key Features and Benefits of the Rikon 60-200 2HP Portable Dust Collector

  • 2HP Motor: A 2-horsepower motor spinning at 3,450 RPM moves 1,189 CFM at the 4-inch inlet, so it has the airflow a large woodworking space needs.
  • Dual Inlet Options: A single 5-inch port serves 1 large machine, and the dual 4-inch fitting lets you run 2 machines at the same time.
  • 5-Micron Filtration: The cloth filter bag traps particles as small as 5 microns, which keeps more fine dust out of the air you breathe.
  • Large Collection Bag: The lower bag holds 5.4 cubic feet of chips and dust, so you empty it less often during long sessions.
  • Strong Static Pressure: A rating of 6.42 inches of water column static pressure helps the blower hold suction as chips travel through the hose.
  • Steel Construction: Steel runs from the base to the 12-inch blower wheel, giving you a sturdy machine for heavy chip loads.
  • Locking Toggle Switch: The on/off toggle needs a center key inserted before the collector starts, which prevents unauthorized use in your space.
  • Built-In Casters: Casters under the 92-pound collector let you roll it from tool to tool instead of lifting or dragging it.
  • Power Draw: The collector runs on 110-120-volt power and draws up to 16 amps, so plan for a circuit that can handle that load.
  • Noise Level: Noise stays under 78 dB measured at 3 feet, so you know what to expect when it runs beside your tools.

Plan Where the 60-200 Will Live in Your Space

At 37 x 22 x 76.5-Inches (L x W x H), the 60-200 stands over 6 feet tall. Check the clearance under shelving, low beams, or garage door tracks before you pick a parking spot. The footprint is narrow enough to tuck beside your largest machine between jobs. Because the included hose sets your reach, roll the collector close to whichever tool is running rather than stretching the hose across the floor.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're moving past sweeping and a handheld vacuum to a real collection system for a large woodworking space, the 60-200 is a strong fit. It works best when 2 stationary machines run together, because they share 1 motor through the dual fitting. The center-key switch matters if children visit your garage. Follow the grounding instructions at setup, and you get a collector that handles big chip loads and keeps fine dust under control.
