Description
If you open a sealed room just to check a thermometer, you let out the conditions you're trying to measure. The TrolMaster Legacy Hawkeye 3-in-1 Monitor & Logger avoids this by keeping its display outside the space while its sensor reads the air inside. You see all 3 core readings at a glance from the doorway.
The Hawkeye only monitors and never controls equipment, so you can use it as a backup check on an existing controller or as your main source of climate data. Once you connect it to Wi-Fi, it starts logging trends on its own and sends alarm alerts to your smartphone through the TrolMaster App.
Key Features and Benefits of the TrolMaster Legacy Hawkeye 3-in-1 Monitor & Logger
- Triple LED Display: The front panel has 3 LED screens, one for each reading, so you can check every condition in one glance.
- Remote Sensor Cable: A 16-foot sensor cable lets you mount the monitor outside the room for easy reading while the sensor stays inside.
- Wi-Fi Alerts: Wi-Fi connects the monitor to the TrolMaster App, which sends alarm alerts to your smartphone so you know about problems while you're away.
- Setpoint Alarms: You can set a maximum and minimum for each of the 3 readings, and the built-in alarm sounds whenever a value leaves that range.
- App Trend Graphs: The TrolMaster App records sensor data automatically and plots it on an easy-to-read graph, helping you spot patterns over time.
- MicroSD Data Logging: A MicroSD card slot stores recorded data on the monitor itself, so you keep a local record for tracking data over time.
- VPD Monitoring: The Hawkeye also measures VPD (vapor pressure deficit), which shows you how temperature and air moisture are working together.
- CO2 Calibration: The CO2 sensor reads 0 to 2,000 PPM within plus or minus 70 PPM, and you can recalibrate it yourself to keep readings accurate.
- Standard Outlet Power: The monitor runs on 110 to 120 volts and draws a maximum of 0.5 amps, plugging into a standard outlet through its DC adapter.
Will the Hawkeye's Sensor Ranges Suit Your Room?
The Hawkeye reads temperatures from 32 to 122 degrees F within plus or minus 1 degree, which covers both a cold, unheated room in winter and a hot room in summer. Humidity readings run from 5 to 95 percent relative humidity with plus or minus 7 percent accuracy. If you have a tight humidity target, use these readings to follow trends and check them against a second reference. The monitor body is rated for the same 32 to 122 degrees F range and up to 90 percent humidity, so in very damp rooms you should mount the 10.8 x 6.5 x 2.75-Inches (L x W x H), 5-pound display outside and let the remote sensor take the readings inside.
Sylvane's Expert Take
If you already run a climate controller and want an independent second opinion, the Hawkeye fits that role well. It performs best mounted outside a closed space with the sensor run inside. Because it never switches devices on or off, treat its alarms and app alerts as your cue to act. Set up Wi-Fi and the setpoint alarms first so your phone warns you before a problem grows.
