Info & Guides

Description

Pet hair rarely stays on the floor. It drifts onto stairs, under couch cushions, and along baseboards, which is where the Bissell SurfaceSense Pet Lift-Off Multi-Surface Upright Vacuum earns its keep. Detach the Lift-Off pod from the upright frame and you have a canister-style vacuum you can carry to the mess, instead of dragging the whole machine there.

Key Features and Benefits of the Bissell SurfaceSense Pet Lift-Off Multi-Surface Upright Vacuum

  • SurfaceSense Technology: SurfaceSense automatically changes suction and power to match the floor type, so you can move from carpet to bare floor without stopping to adjust.
  • Sealed HEPA System: The completely sealed HEPA allergen system captures dust and allergens and keeps them inside the vacuum, which helps if you live with pets or allergies.
  • Lift-Off Pod: The detachable Lift-Off pod turns the upright into a canister in seconds, and the 2 included attachments take cleaning beyond the floor.
  • Manual Override: A toggle on the handle switches between plush carpet and low carpet/bare floor modes, so you can pick your preferred setting anytime.
  • Wide Cleaning Path: A 13-inch cleaning path driven by an electric-powered brushroll covers open floor areas in fewer passes.
  • XL Dirt Tank: The bagless XL capacity dirt tank means you won't need to empty it after every session, and a button push empties it hands-free.
  • LED Headlights: Built-in LED headlights light up dark corners, so you can spot fine dust and stray pet hair you might otherwise miss.
  • Washable Filters: The pre-motor filters rinse clean with a mild detergent, so you can clear trapped dirt and debris and keep the vacuum running well.
  • Swivel Steering: Swivel steering on a 15.5-pound frame helps you get around furniture and tight turns without lifting the vacuum.
  • Long Power Cord: A 27-foot cord on a 110-120 volt plug-in supply lets you cover more of a room before you change outlets.

Planning Around the Lift-Off Pod and Footprint

Think about the spots where pet hair collects off the floor, because that is where the Lift-Off design pays you back. You can leave the upright base parked on the landing, detach the pod, and carry it up the stairs or onto furniture with the attachments rather than hauling the full vacuum. Between cleanings, the vacuum stores at 12 x 11.93 x 44.65-Inches (L x W x H), about 1 square foot of floor space. That small footprint helps if storage in your apartment or hall closet is tight.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you share your home with shedding pets and a mix of rugs and bare floors, this vacuum performs best in multi-room layouts where you would otherwise keep stopping to change settings. SurfaceSense adjusts suction automatically, but carpet height is set by hand, so set it for your plushest rug before you start. The sealed HEPA system matters most when someone in your home has allergies, because captured dust and allergens stay inside the vacuum. For pet homes that need floor and stair cleaning from one machine, it's a strong fit.
