Replacing an old, noisy ceiling fan often turns into a fight with joist spacing. The Broan EVOLVE Premium line avoids that problem with a telescoping frame and a housing that fits 2 x 8 ceiling framing, so you can put the fan where the moisture actually builds up. It comes in Fan Only and Fan w/ Light configurations.

The EVOLVE Premium works in other small rooms as well as bathrooms, in homes and commercial spaces where humidity and odors hang around. It complies with ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation standards, which gives you a recognized benchmark for residential fresh-air ventilation when you plan a remodel or new build.

Key Features and Benefits of the Broan EVOLVE Premium 110-130-150 CFM Bathroom Exhaust Fan

  • Selectable Airflow: Set the fan to 110, 130, or 150 CFM using 3 speed settings, so the exhaust power matches your room's size and steam load.
  • TrueCFM Technology: Holds steady airflow against up to 0.4 inches of static pressure, so long or complex duct layouts don't weaken performance.
  • Low Sound Rating: A 0.6-sone rating lets you run the fan during a shower without loud background noise.
  • Energy Star 4.1: Certified efficiency and a maximum draw of 29.6 watts keep your operating costs low, even if the fan runs often or for long periods.
  • Galvanized Steel Housing: Galvanized steel construction resists rust in humid conditions, so the housing holds up through years of steamy showers.
  • Telescoping Frame: Adjusts between 14 and 24 inches to reach joists wherever you need, and the slide-and-lock design cuts installation time by more than 30 percent.
  • Ceiling Fit: Fits 2 x 8 ceiling construction with a 12 x 11-Inches (L x W) cutout and connects to 6-inch ductwork for simple routing.
  • Size and Weight: Measures 14 x 13.125 x 7.125-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 13 pounds, so you can check joist bay clearance before you cut the ceiling.
  • Power and Controls: Runs on 110-120 volts with electronic controls, so you can wire it into a standard household circuit.
  • Safety Certifications: Carries cULus and HVI certifications, so the fan's safety and its performance ratings have been independently verified.

Fan Only vs. Fan w/ Light: Choose Your Configuration

You can get the EVOLVE Premium in a Fan Only or Fan w/ Light configuration, depending on whether the fan also needs to light the room.

  • Fan Only: This configuration draws a maximum of 0.5 amps and has no built-in light, so it suits bathrooms that already have the overhead fixtures you want.
  • Fan w/ Light: This configuration includes an integrated LED light that gives 800 lumens of warm-neutral 3500K light rated for up to 50,000 hours, draws up to 0.58 amps, and carries an extra UL listing.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're remodeling a bathroom up to 105 square feet and want a fan you can adjust after it's installed, the EVOLVE Premium line is a strong fit. It does best on long or bent duct runs, where it holds the airflow you selected instead of letting it drop off.

Choose the Fan w/ Light if the fan sits over a shower or vanity that needs its own light source. Otherwise, the Fan Only version keeps your ceiling uncluttered while giving you the same quiet, quick-to-install ventilation.
