Description
Description
How you install a fireplace depends on how permanent you want it to be, and the Napoleon Entice Electric Fireplace gives you 3 ways to decide. You can hang it on the wall with the included brackets and plug it in, or frame it into the wall for a partially or fully recessed look that is hardwired. Both the 36-inch and 42-inch widths deliver the same heat and flame effects.
Once it's installed, the fireplace works as a lighting feature as much as a heater. The flames come in orange and blue, with a multi-color option as well, and large clear crystal media reflects the light to give the fire bed real depth. The flames also run without heat, so the glow works on its own.
Key Features and Benefits of the Napoleon Entice Electric Fireplace
- 5,000-BTU Heat: Electric heat rated at 5,000 BTUs, with low and high settings, warms rooms of about 400 square feet so you can turn your thermostat down.
- Onboard Thermostat: You can set the built-in thermostat anywhere from 64 to 82 degrees F, and the fireplace holds your chosen comfort level on its own.
- Auto Shut-Off Timer: The timer runs for 30 minutes or from 1 to 8 hours in 1-hour steps, so the heat shuts off automatically once the set time has passed.
- Flame Control: Flame brightness has 4 levels and flicker speed has 5, letting you take the fire from a soft glow to a lively blaze.
- Ember Bed Colors: You can choose amber, blue, clear, black, red, or topaz embers, then add cycle or fade effects for a glow that looks like real coals.
- Slim Profile: At just 5 7/16 inches deep, the fireplace stays out of the way when wall-mounted, so it won't crowd walkways or furniture.
- Household Power: It runs on 110-120 volts and draws up to 1,465 watts at 12.2 amps, so you can plug the wall-hanging setup into a household outlet.
- CSA-Certified Safety: An overheat switch and a child safety lock that disables the heat protect your household, backed by CSA certification.
- Remote and Onscreen: A full-function remote is included, and the onscreen controls dim after 10 seconds so they disappear from view while the fire runs.
Choose Your Width
The Entice comes in 36-inch and 42-inch widths, and the right choice comes down to the wall you want to fill.
- 36-Inch Width: This model measures 36 x 5.43 x 17-Inches (L x W x H) and gives you a viewing area 32 inches wide, which suits narrower walls and smaller rooms. At 36.6 pounds, it's the easier of the 2 to lift into place.
- 42-Inch Width: This model measures 41.75 x 5.43 x 17-Inches (L x W x H) and widens the viewing area to 38 inches, so it makes a stronger focal point on a feature wall or in a larger living room. It weighs 40.6 pounds.
Sylvane's Expert Take
If you rent or expect to move, choose the wall-hanging setup, which plugs into a household outlet and goes with you when you leave. Recessed installs suit remodels where you want a built-in look, while both widths share the same heat and controls, so wall space should drive the width. Pick the Entice if you want flexibility without giving up the flame display.
