Description
Description
A ceiling fan that reads the room is the idea behind the Big Ass Fans 52-In. Haiku Caramel Bamboo Smart Ceiling Fan, a line made for homes as well as businesses and public spaces. You don't have to cycle through settings yourself, because the onboard sensors and the Haiku app set the pace for you. Every configuration weighs 13 to 14 pounds, so it is manageable to lift during installation, and it runs on standard 110- to 120-volt household power.
Your Haiku account opens up the automation. You can set schedules for each fan mode and group several Haiku products into Rooms so they run in sync. Switching on Fan ECO captures the most energy savings from the motor. The app runs on iOS 9.0 or later and Android 5.0 or later.
Key Features and Benefits of the Big Ass Fans 52-In. Haiku Caramel Bamboo Smart Ceiling Fan
- SenseME Technology: Built-in sensors track motion, temperature, and humidity, then adjust fan speed automatically so the room stays comfortable without you reaching for the remote.
- Strong Airflow: The fan moves 5,590 to 6,786 CFM depending on configuration, giving you a steady breeze across the whole room.
- Low Power Draw: The permanent-magnet motor uses just 20 to 23.2 watts and 0.1 amps at full output, which keeps your running costs low.
- Whisper-Quiet Motor: It runs below 35 dB even at maximum speed, quiet enough for bedrooms and home offices.
- Bamboo Airfoils: The 3 hand-balanced Moso bamboo airfoils in a caramel finish push more air without adding vibration or noise.
- Multiple Controls: You can run the fan from the electronic Bluetooth remote, the Haiku app, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands, or Apple Home through Matter.
- Speed Settings: The fan has 7 speeds plus Whoosh Mode, which varies speed to mimic a natural breeze, and Sleep Mode for steady overnight comfort.
- Thermostat Integration: Once you pair it with a smart thermostat, the Smarter Heating and Smarter Cooling modes switch on their own to cut your heating and cooling costs year-round.
- Remote Mounting: The Bluetooth remote comes with a fixed wall mount and a magnetic wall holder, so you can keep it in your hand or on the wall.
- Color Options: Pick a white, black, nickel, or bronze finish to complement the caramel bamboo blades and match your décor.
- Safety Certifications: The fan is cETLus listed and CE marked, so you know it meets recognized electrical safety standards for homes and commercial spaces.
- Warranty Coverage: Big Ass Fans backs the Haiku with a 5-year warranty, which protects your investment well beyond installation day.
Choose the Right Mount for Your Ceiling Height
The mount you choose sets how far the blades hang below your ceiling, which changes the fan's overall height.
- Low Profile Mount: The Low Profile Mount holds the fan close to the ceiling at 52 x 52 x 12.3-Inches (L x W x H), which suits rooms with 8- to 9-foot ceilings.
- 12-In. Downrod Universal Mount: This configuration uses a 12-inch downrod and measures 52 x 52 x 21-Inches (L x W x H), giving you a modest drop below a raised ceiling.
- 20-In. Downrod Universal Mount: The 20-inch downrod brings the fan to 52 x 52 x 29-Inches (L x W x H), lowering the blades closer to where you sit in taller rooms.
- 32-In. Downrod Universal Mount: The longest option measures 52 x 52 x 41-Inches (L x W x H) and brings airflow down from high or vaulted ceilings.
Sylvane's Expert Take
If you want a bedroom or living room fan that mostly runs itself, the Haiku deserves a close look. It works best in rooms where you spend long stretches, because SenseME changes speed as occupancy and temperature shift. Measure from floor to ceiling before you pick a mount, and go with the low-profile option under 9 feet. The 2 features that matter most are the motor that stays under 35 dB and Matter support, which together give you near-silent airflow that fits Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Home.
