Info & Guides

Description

Large ceiling fans in tall rooms tend to wobble or hum once you push them to higher speeds. The Big Ass Fans Haiku Smart Ceiling Fan line solves that with 3 hand-balanced airfoils made from Moso bamboo, so a broad column of air reaches you without vibration. It works in homes and businesses where you need a lot of air movement without the distraction.

A Bluetooth remote handles everyday adjustments, and the Haiku app adds scheduling plus modes like Whoosh, which varies speed to feel like a natural breeze. Link the fan to a smart thermostat and it switches between Smarter Heating and Smarter Cooling on its own. That helps you cut energy costs in every season.

Key Features and Benefits of the Big Ass Fans 84-In. Haiku Caramel Bamboo Smart Ceiling Fan

  • Large Diameter: An 84-inch diameter moves up to 15,716 CFM, giving you strong airflow across large great rooms and open commercial spaces.
  • SenseME Technology: Sensors for motion, temperature, and humidity adjust speed automatically, so the fan responds to your room without you reaching for the remote.
  • Whisper-Quiet Motor: A permanent-magnet motor runs at less than 35 decibels at max speed, so even full power won't drown out conversation.
  • Low Power Draw: A maximum draw of 38.1 watts at 0.3 amps on a 110- to 120-volt circuit keeps your operating costs low during all-day use.
  • Speed Settings: Pick from 7 speeds to get anything from a gentle drift to full-strength cooling on hot afternoons.
  • Voice Control: Link the fan to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant devices, or use Apple Home through Matter, for hands-free adjustments.
  • Flexible Remote: The included Bluetooth remote works handheld or docked, and both a fixed wall mount and a magnetic wall holder come in the box.
  • Room Grouping: The Rooms feature in the Haiku app groups multiple Haiku fans in one space so they run in sync.
  • Color Options: Choose a Bronze, Nickel, White, or Black finish to pair with the Caramel Bamboo airfoils and suit your décor.
  • Warranty Coverage: A 5-year warranty from Big Ass Fans gives you long-term protection on a fan you'll run every day.
  • Safety Certified: The fan carries cETLus and CE certifications, confirming it meets recognized safety standards for your home or business.

Choose Your Downrod Length

Each finish comes with a Universal mount and your choice of 3 downrod lengths, from 12 inches up to 32 inches, which sets how far the fan hangs below your ceiling.

  • 12-In. Downrod Universal Mount: This configuration pairs a 12-inch downrod with a total fan height of 21 inches, keeping the blades closer to the ceiling where you want more headroom.
  • 20-In. Downrod Universal Mount: With a 20-inch downrod and a total height of 29 inches, this option drops the airfoils toward the living zone of moderately tall rooms.
  • 32-In. Downrod Universal Mount: The longest option combines a 32-inch downrod with a total height of 41 inches, bringing airflow down to you in rooms with high or vaulted ceilings.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're cooling a large great room or open commercial space with tall ceilings, the 84-inch Haiku belongs on your list. The detail most people overlook is downrod length, so measure your ceiling first. The right drop puts the airflow where you actually sit.

Finish choice is purely about looks, since every configuration shares the same motor and sensors. SenseME automation and near-silent operation are what you'll appreciate daily, and together they make this one of the easiest big fans to live with.
