Description
Description
A frozen pump or split valve can cut off your water supply on the coldest nights. The King Electric 240V/120V Pump House Heater protects pumps, valves, and farm machinery through cold stretches and cuts down the moisture that builds up around mechanical equipment. Wire it to the electrical service you already have, and the built-in thermostat takes care of the rest.
The heater also works outside the pump house. A lower-wattage setup inside an electrical cabinet controls moisture and holds a minimum operating temperature, which keeps your electronic equipment reliable. If you're replacing an older pump house heater, you can reuse your current connections.
Key Features and Benefits of the King Electric 240V/120V Pump House Heater
- Radiant Heating: Radiant heat warms your equipment directly and works more efficiently than traditional convection heaters when you need to keep pumps from freezing.
- 1,000-Watt Output: At 240 volts, the heater produces up to 1,000 watts, or 3,412 BTU, which is enough heat to protect your well pump through extended freezes.
- 3 Voltage Options: Wire it at 240, 208, or 120 volts so the heater matches the circuit already running to your pump house.
- Built-In Thermostat: You set your preferred temperature on the manual thermostat, and heating shuts off once conditions rise above freezing.
- ETL Listed: The heater carries an ETL listing for damp locations, so you can install it with confidence in humid pump houses and well enclosures.
- ASSE-1060 Compliant: The heater meets ASSE-1060 requirements, which helps when your installation needs to pass inspection.
- Overheat Protection: Automatic overheat protection cuts power if the heater runs too hot, adding a layer of safety in equipment rooms you rarely visit.
- Amp Draw: The heater draws a maximum of 4.2 amps on a hardwired connection, so check your circuit capacity before installing.
- Compact Footprint: It measures 6.25 x 3.5 x 17-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 4 pounds, so it fits between tanks and piping in tight enclosures.
- Color Options: Choose a gray or stainless steel finish to suit your enclosure and the conditions it faces.
Choose Your Voltage Based on Heat Output and Mounting
The voltage you choose sets both the heat output and how you can mount the heater. Wiring at 240 volts gives you the full 1,000 watts, while 208-volt wiring brings output down to 750 watts. At 120 volts you get 250 watts, which suits electrical cabinets and small enclosures where you mainly need to hold off condensation.
Note: For vertical installation, this model needs to be wired at 120 volts, which limits output to 250 watts.
Sylvane's Expert Take
If you're a rural homeowner or farm operator with a well pump in an unheated shed, this heater gives you dependable freeze protection. Wired at 240 volts and mounted horizontally, it delivers the full 1,000 watts. The thermostat is the feature that matters most, because it shuts off once temperatures rise above freezing. The gray and stainless steel versions perform the same, so pick the finish you like and wire it to the circuit you already have.
