Designed for rugged performance, the King Electric KBP Series heaters offer versatile heating in garages or shops up to 600 square feet. A “pic-a-watt” element lets you select from a range of wattage options to tailor it to your room conditions. This is a 240-volt heater that’s proudly made in the United States.
Pic-A-Watt Element for Large or Small Areas
The KBP heater is the industry standard for multi-wattage garage and industrial heaters. The King Electric KBP2406 model uses the exclusive multi-tap element that can be adjusted to several wattages when you install it.
It includes steel sheath elements with different resistance levels that let you pick between these wattage levels: 950, 1,900, 2,850, 3,800, 4,750, and 5,700. Use lower wattage for medium size spaces, and for large, cold environments, select high wattage options.
Note: This is a single-phase heater that uses up to 24 amps.

Impressive Heating
Easily set the ideal temperature with simple manual controls:
- Adjustable Thermostat: Set your heat level by turning the knob. Six heat levels between 40 - 85 degrees F are available with up to 19,449 BTUs.
- Mode: A second control knob has three choices: Off, fan-only, and heat. Choose one and then set your ideal room temperature using the thermostat.
- Flow Through Design: Air is pulled from the back and released out the front for immediate and efficient heating.

- Safety Shut Off: This compact heater shut off automatically when it senses overheating, and then resets to your programmed settings once a normal operating temperatures returns.

Unit will be mounted in a 2-car garage, intended to prevent freezing. I plan to select one of the 'middle' wattage choices on the selectable heating element. Overall the product is reasonably well constructed, but placement of the wiring elements make them a bit difficult to access. This matter is compounded by a metal cabinet that is merely adequate in its design and fabrication quality. I would also prefer to see a more robust mechanism for holding a 'tilt' once the unit is suspended in its mounting bracket. There are far better solutions beyond a cinch knob with sawtooth washers that tear into the metal's protective finish. I do appreciate that the product is American made, and pre-purchase customer support from the manufacturer was good. There's not really a better option for my application, so I'm hopeful the unit lasts a period worthy of its price.

I did a lot of research and reading until I found this... A guy wrote: ""I've had this heater in my greenhouse for over 25 years"". ""Every morning I go out there in Winter and it's nice and warm, it finally died so I'm immediately purchasing a new one, no need to shop around"". I'm glad I read that because so far so good! I have a 42' RV trailer with 12' high ceilings and an open loft... I put this blowing across the living room in the loft, mounted it to the loft railings. With just this and a (oil radiator) space heater in the bedroom, I'm at around 76° or more in the dead of Winter. I should mention that this Winter has been mild, hasn't dropped below 24° but also I have minimal insulation, all picture windows and no foundation. So any doors closed regularly, that room will need it's own heat source or the door left open. But I am at the max for power consumption on my service, I liked this unit because it's only 23.7 amps instead of the normal 30 amps so I could run it on a 25 amp breaker and top quality 12/2 wire at 240 volts (not recommended but doable) which saved installation cost and power consumption. Also this cycles great between wattage used and will only consume what you need to keep it up to temperature. My only 2 complaints are when it clicks off, it's a jolting snap sound that startles me occasionally haha and depending on how cold it is, you can basically forget about the numbers on the thermostat. Just crank it up until it's hot 🥵! I do hope to put it on…
