Info & Guides

Description

Planning a media wall or a new feature wall? This fireplace gives you 2 ways to install it. You can recess it fully for a flush finish, or mount it partially on the wall surface if you'd rather not cut as deep into the wall. The frameless black design suits modern interiors, and you can pick from 3 widths to scale the flame to your wall.

You can run the flame and the heat separately, so you can use this fireplace all year. Flame-only mode keeps the log set glowing on summer evenings without warming the room. When the weather turns, switch the heater on and the same fireplace becomes a source of real warmth.

Key Features and Benefits of the Napoleon Astound FlexMount Electric Fireplace

  • Adjustable Heat: The 10,000-BTU heater offers 2 heat settings, taking the chill off a cold room or giving gentler warmth on mild evenings.
  • HD LED Flame: A high-definition LED display creates a lifelike flame effect over the log set, so you get the look of a real fire with nothing to burn.
  • Ember Bed Colors: Choose from 13 options for the ember bed and top light, so you can match the glow to the season or your décor.
  • App and Remote: Use the included remote to change heat and flame color, or connect over Wi-Fi through the Napoleon app.
  • Programmable Timer: Set the built-in programmable timer to turn the fireplace off on your schedule, so you can fall asleep to the flames without leaving the heat running.
  • Overheat Protection: Automatic overheat protection and automatic shut-off guard against overheating, while the cool-touch glass front stays safe to brush against.
  • CSA Certified: CSA certification confirms the fireplace has been tested to CSA safety standards, which gives you confidence in a heater mounted in your wall.
  • Flexible Wiring: Plug it in or hardwire it, running on 110 to 120 volts or 220 to 240 volts and drawing up to 15 amps.
  • Slim Profile: Each width measures 50, 62, or 74 x 7.13 x 23-Inches (L x W x H), so you know exactly how much wall depth a recessed install needs.

Choose Your Width

Width is the main choice here: the Astound FlexMount comes in 50-inch, 62-inch, or 74-inch sizes, with coverage and weight rising at each step.

  • 50-Inch: This size is rated for spaces up to 400 square feet and weighs 118 pounds, a good fit for bedrooms and smaller living rooms.
  • 62-Inch: This size is rated for spaces up to 600 square feet and weighs 138 pounds, giving a typical living room a strong flame without taking over the wall.
  • 74-Inch: This size is rated for spaces up to 800 square feet and weighs 160 pounds, creating a wide focal point for great rooms and open-plan areas.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're finishing a modern living room or bedroom and want a fireplace that looks built-in, the Astound FlexMount deserves a close look. The partial surface-mount option is its standout: you get most of the recessed look without recessing the full depth. Pick your size by both wall width and room size, because each width carries a different coverage rating. Flame-only mode and app control are the features to weigh most, since they make this a fireplace you'll use in July as well as January.
