This heater was recommended to me for heating my living/dining area. It does the job. At first, it will make slight ping noise; that's just the oil getting going. Otherwise, very quiet machine and effective.

#sweepstakes I use this to primarily heat up our small bedroom. Works well. We leave the door open so some heat goes to the rest of our apartment. (900 sq ft) I read many posts before purchasing. We are glad we purchased to is product, however after many posts about it having a smell, or people saying it doesn't have a smell, YES THERE IS A SLIGHT SMELL. Even after many hours of use, however, it's not very strong and so for us not a huge problem. That's why I give 4 stars.
