Description
The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm is a 10-year alarm featuring both photoelectric and electrochemical sensing technology and a sealed lithium battery.
The Smart Hush feature temporarily silences nuisance alarms for approximately 10 minutes and will not allow hush mode unless the unit is in alarm mode.
Combination Alarm
This alarm combines both smoke and carbon monoxide detection, which creates a better system with fewer nuisance alarms. The NFPA recommends that both ionization (electrochemical) and photoelectric sensors be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur.
When either sensor detects a potential hazard, it will communicate with the other sensor. Depending on what is detected, the alarm will adjust its smoke sensitivity to better discriminate between a real hazard and a false one.
CO Sensitivity
Carbon monoxide is a silent killer without color or odor, so early detection is of primary importance. The CO sensor will not alarm at levels below 30 PPM and will alarm in time ranges based on PPM level.
- 70 PPM CO Concentration: 60–240 minutes
- 150 PPM CO Concentration: 10–50 minutes
- 400 PPM CO Concentration: 4–15 minutes
The piezoelectric horn is rated at 85 decibels at 10 feet and will sound four fast beeps, a pause, and then four fast beeps. In the case of smoke detection, the alarm will sound using 3 beeps, a pause, and then 3 beeps. The red LED will flash in conjunction with the sound.
Sealed 10-Year Battery
With its sealed lithium battery, the Kidde P3010K-CO smoke and CO alarm can be mounted to any wall or ceiling following UL-approved placement guidelines. There is no need to plug into an outlet.
Also, this battery is guaranteed to power the detector for its entire life, so it never needs replacing and provides continuous protection even during power outages.
Additional Features
- Automatic Activation: When attached to the mounting bracket, the alarm is automatically activated with no switches or pull-tabs.
- Alarm Memory: A rapidly flashing LED alerts the user if the alarm has sounded since the last time the test or reset button was used.
- Test/Hush Button: Tests alarm circuitry and activates Hush features.
- LED: A red LED will blink in conjunction with the alarm sound.
- End of Life Warning: The alarm chirps every 30 seconds to indicate the unit is in need of replacement.
- End of Life Hush®: End of life indications can be silenced three days at a time up to 30 days to allow for alarm replacement at a more convenient time.
