The Daikin Oterra Series 18,000 BTU Ductless Mini-Split is a powerful and energy-efficient heating and cooling solution for up to 1,000 square feet of large spaces. It features powerful airflow with high energy efficiency, several advanced operating modes, and an upgraded variable-speed inverter technology.   

  • Flexible Applications: It is ideal for primary living areas like bedrooms, living rooms, and offices, as well as spaces that a ducted HVAC doesn’t traditionally cover, like basements, attics, garages, and home additions.

  • Eco-Friendly Refrigerant: Uses the earth-friendly and efficient R-32 refrigerant. 

  • Extensive Operating Range: Heats and cools even when outdoor temperatures are as low as 5 degrees F or as high as 122 degrees F. 

  • Quiet Performance: It features whisper-quiet operation with an indoor noise level as low as 19 dB (similar to the sound of rustling leaves). 

  • Anti-Corrosion Treatment: An anti-corrosion treatment on the heat exchanger extends the outdoor unit's lifetime.

Required This air conditioning system requires a 1/4 x 1/2 lineset and must be installed by a licensed technician. 

Energy Efficiency

This ductless air conditioner heats and cools with a 21 SEER 2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating, a 12 EER 2 (Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating, and a 9.6 HSPF 2 (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) rating.  

Variable-Speed Inverter

The Daikin Oterra features an advanced variable-speed inverter compressor that produces powerful yet energy-efficient airflow. Unlike traditional HVAC systems, which typically run at top speeds whenever the system is on, the inverter compressor automatically regulates the fan motor speed.

Advanced Modes 

This mini-split has three basic heat and cool speeds and multiple advanced operating modes, allowing users to customize its output to fit their needs. 

  • Eco+ Mode: Users can prioritize energy savings and eco-friendly operation with the Eco+ Mode. 

  • Powerful Mode: Powerful Mode overrides all settings for 20 minutes, working at maximum capacity to reach a user's desired temperature as quickly as possible. 

  • Dry Mode: In Dry mode, the Daikin Oterra will prioritize moisture removal and humidity control. 

  • Quiet Mode: This nighttime mode switches to lower cooling and heating speeds and significantly reduces sound output.
