Description
Prevent mineral buildup and retard bacterial growth on the media pad of your MasterCool Window Swamp Cooler by installing the MasterCool Purge Pump Kit. Operating directly from the cooler's electronic control system, this purge pump periodically expels water from the reservoir keeping media pads clean and extending their life span. Purge pump systems use much less water than typical bleed-off systems so it's as easy on the environment as it is on you. Included in the kit are the pump, pump bracket, hose kit, screw to mount bracket and instructions for installation. Dimensions: 9.5 in. H x 4.5 in. W x 5 in. D

Instructions sheet was lacking information and short purge pump hose was about 3"" too short. Details of operation was poor. I called the manufacturer and got the info so will share here. Purge pump cycles or runs about 5 minutes to purge water out of tray. The regular pump has to run 6 hrs. CONTINOUSLY before purge pump will cycle. There is no manual override in control panel to force purge pump on for testing.

The only problem I had is the hose they supply is bent in to the box and when you hook it up it does not unkink so it won't let the pump, pump water out . Changed out hose and it works well. Pumps out around 5 gallons in it's cycle. I have 2 Mastercool units and only got 1 pump the one that does not have one even the blade has turned white from calcium. So it is a must if you have hard water.
